Impressive win tonight, 11 straight, yet for some reason I'm not convinced we're second round material yet. Namely because I don't think New Orleans is either. How do we know? I think March will tell us something of how we measure up. With the west as tight as it is, expect March to be playoff-like atmosphere - and we will play every team that is a challenge us except for the Utah Jazz: Dallas Phoenix Boston New Orleans x2 Golden State on the road San Antonio on the road LA Lakers Especially the week of the 16th - where we will play LA, NO, Golden State, Phoenix, and Boston - 5 games in 7 nights, 4 in 5 nights. That's the big test. Our Defense isn't what worries me, it's that can we win when T-mac or Yao have an off night. Tonight they played great, but they were the only guys in double digits. What about when Yao or T-mac are off - what then? Who will step up? There's no Bonzi now to provide an offensive spark....
All these games are playoff like atmospheres already.....we are only 3 out of first and we play New Orleans 2 more times. This is gonna be a dog fight, and the best thing is that Adelman has some hustle players...WITH SKILLS....and that inspires everyone else. WOOT ...BRING ON MARCH baby...I ain't scared. DD
Yep, I circled that 5 game stretch on my calendar just 2 days ago. It's going to be brutal, but so is the road to anything significant in the playoffs. Might as well get a head start.
The strech is brutal for any team. 5 games in 7 nights? Are you kidding me? We could easily go 2-3 or 1-4. Those are just good teams, those are the teams that give us the most trouble. You're talking the Lakers, GS on the road, and Phoenix. You're talking Boston. If we take 3 of those 5 games, I'm going to be very excited.
Well, we've had an easy schedule for a while now, so this was to be expected. I'll be satisfied if we take 3 out of 5 games (even 2 out of 5 games if they just play hard)
I think every West game is being played and officiated like its the playoffs already. Probably a mandate from the league. This is truly an astounding situation. Teams are playing so tough and nasty. Reminds me of the late 80s-90s. Best time to be a NBA fan since MJ.
well november and december were pretty tough. i think we had the toughest strength of schedule after those 2 months. all of the easy games were in the next 2 months (jan-feb) which helped our 20-3 stretch. hopefully this team is now more used to the system and each other enough to be better prepared to handle such a schedule.
I am so addicted. I am reading everything and following each game like it's a 7 game series. I left a party tonight early to get home in time to catch the end of the NO game. And here i thought I wasn't as passionate about the Rockets after all these years. Still, I'm not convinced we are a contender. In my heart, I want to believe it, but I just know that NO isn't going anywhere this year. The teams to beat are Phoenix, LA, SA, and Utah.
