the logo is a classic. i think its a keeper. like the astros star. the new york yankees logo. simple, plain...the only reason the mustard and ketcup is so popular was because of the success the team had wearing them. if the rockets get back to a top level, the rockets r will be cherished just as much.
I do and don't agree with you. While I agree that the logo will be cherished if they win a title or two, I don't think it's classic and timeless. It still reeks of current, trendy design as opposed to classic, timeless design. I'd like to see an Astros or Celtics timeless logo for the Rockets.
the logo is alright but our colors suck, they need to make them black n red instead of gray and white or white and red
I know for a fact that the Rockets LOVE their logo and colors and intend to keep them for the long haul. They decided that rather than changing with whatever is cool at the moment, they intend to keep this as long as possible to establish it as an icon for the team like the logo for the Yankees or Cubs. It isn't going anywhere.
it's not the logo that makes the team, it is the team that makes the logo. People like the classics because of the players who have played in it, who have won with it. I rather they keep this logo and have Yao, Tmac, and the rest of the team make this logo to be a classic- their version.
I'm sure some in the organization might've felt the same about the cartoon rocket. They should bring this logo back.
This is a tired subject. I've lurked for several years, I dare you to count the threads about the logo. The point is this, sticking to a logo for an extended period of time creates a sense of stability. The front office likes this logo (thanks Jeff) so it's really a dead subject. I just wish the road unis said Houston.
I wouldn't mind that at all. My ONLY complaint about the uni's is that I have a hell of a time reading the numbers on the backs. #11 is easy enough to spot, as is #1, but the rest of them are damn difficult to pick out. Maybe its just me, but I'd love a font tweak for the digits. Otherwise, I love the uni's, the colors, and the logo.
