Maybe I haven't watched enough games but did the rox switch to court only lighting scheme ala Lakers games?... sorry if im late ..just watching the game tonight and thats definitely what they are in tonight and i know people have suggested it before..
yeah, it looks nothing like the staples center on lakers games to me. the entire concourse has really dim lighting where with the toyota center it's more balanced imo.
Looking at it... its not nearly as dramatic as Staples but its definitely there they dimmed out the stands...
wow! i definitely agree it looked different. today was the first time i've seen a game since a month ago...and i noticed it looked different, it looks better now
Decided to necrobump this thread. It's seems to me (I don't have any data) that the Rox shoot much better in arenas that are darker or specifically have the seating area darker with the light focused on the court. Toyota center is not like this at all and I'm wondering if the Rox FO have ever thought about making the change. Honestly whether it's the late crowds, the lighting, the strip clubs, idk but we've not been a dominating home team in years. Maybe they should really look into it.
Dimming the lights as much as the LA/NY teams would also help mask the embarrassing half-empty lower bowl in the beginning of games. I'm all for it, especially if it's true that we shoot better in that lighting.
Agreed. The lighting is too static. We need to add strobe lights, lasers, and smoke machines to get the crowd going. Also add a DJ playing constant EDM over the PA system.
Bullard described the Brooklyn arena as "a great shooting arena" and my first thought was why in the hell isn't the Toyota Center a great shooting arena?
I'm telling you, I don't have any stats to back it up but I watch every game and it seems our guys go off on those darker background arenas. In Toyota center all you see is brightly lit red empty seats
I agree, felt like this for years. Something about those types of ball courts that bring the best out. Like a the positive energy in the arena is centralized to the court. Lakers, Knicks, Nets all give that effect.
