Other than Rickert's run in with KG I dont really know much about him. What kind of game does he have?

I'm not sure and it probabaly doesn't matter. He's likely just a big body for Howard and Swift to bang against in camp.

He came out of school (Minnesota) as a sophomore. He was a pretty highly touted recruit out of high school, McD's All-American, etc. When he came out, he was a late 2nd rounder because his game was unpolished and he didn't really have a position (6-11, 216 lbs.). Pretty good scorer, but could pretty much be abused defensively - not especially athletic, and really underweight. Not a very good rebounder. He does have a good shooting touch though, and could maybe be a Padgett type inside the 3 point arc (yeah, that doesn't sound too good).

    He is only 22, however.

He should have stayed in school another 2 years. Didn't KG suckerpunch him last year?

Does this indicate Dike's resigning isnt 100% done deal. That will be major let down.

    Read and relax, man.

Rickert is unproven and scrawny for a 4, let alone a 5. The article talks about maybe inviting him to training camp. That has no bearing on Mutombo, other than he may get in the way of one of Deke's elbows.

I recall there being a big fuss about his recruitment - he wanted to sign for Arizona, but his parents wouldn't sign off on the move - so he ended up at Minnesota? My memory isn't too clear.

i saw him play a couple of times in college for minnesota and he was okay but he isn't strong enough to play the 4 or 5 and lacks the athleticism and quickness to play the 3. he's a decent scorer and decent rebounder. i don't see him as anything more than a 12th man.

Rickert orally committed to Arizona then switched about a month later to Minnesota.
