http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...isiah_thomas_says_making_trades_to_get_u.html He would be a nice backup to Yao.
Mike James and Kirk Snyder for Kurt Thomas, it's a fair deal. I'm serious. ...ok, maybe the sonics won't bite, but that's my offer...no scola, no landry, no brooks, no battier...
That would be kind of a slap in Deke's face, but a good move nevertheless. Thomas is about as good as it gets as a backup C.
I'd only offer Mike James and Kirk Snyder. I feel that we have other needs at this point. We can focus on a back-up center in the summer.
Yeah I think it might be Hayes. Would you do this??? Kurt Thomas and Delonte West for Mike James, Kirk Snyder, and Chuck Hayes.
You're damn right I would. But I don't think Seattle would be so giving. They aren't the Grizzlies you know.
If the Rox make this move it might be the only move they will only make, Kurt has a nice outside shot and I know we had trouble with Big Forwards , Kurt can play PF occasionally
I wouldn't chucky is a better defender in my opinion and doese better against the boozer type players...plus why do we want another Juwuan howard type of player its not in the game plan anymore....I'd like the trade with just james and kirk involved since we don't use em.
Kurt Thomas is more of a banger, rugged, bully power forward, while Juwan was more of a skill set, fundamental PF.
Kurt Thomas is on an expiring deal, I believe. There's no way Seattle takes back salary for him. And he's not worth giving up our expirings and a player for. I think Seattle is hoping to attach him to a deal for one of their points, either Ridnour or Watson, and drop some salary.
Kurt Thomas is an $8 million expiring contract -- as a result, he has a lot of value. Kwame Brown for example was a $9 million expiring contract. So, either Les is serious about wanting to dump salary or the Rockets interest would be to do a 3-way or immediately turn around and swap Thomas for a Mike Miller, Andre Miller, Sam Cassell or Ron Artest. Because of the difference in years on their contracts, you're not swapping Mike James (or Juwan Howard for that matter) for Thomas without giving up a young asset (Landry, Brooks or first rounder -- I would assume Scola is off limits and Luther Head not enough of an asset). Seattle is rebuilding... they don't have interest in middle-aged PGs with years on their deal unless they're getting something they can build on. Brooks has some appeal in that area. Anyhow, this is assuming the Rockets even have interest -- looks like the NY Daily News just tossed their name in a random group there.
