They probably cancelled it once they realized that Boston won last night and the Knicks draft pick was getting more valuable.
I'm guessing the new deal being pursued is for DWill. New Jersey will have to move him quick if the Ellis to Orlando deal goes through (and Dwight commits to not opting out), or face losing him to Dallas for nothing this summer. A possible deal could be Lowry and Martin for DWill and MarShon Brooks.
I don't think the nets would prefer martin over brooks, we'd prob give em expiring's and a couple young player with picks.
Bogut outside of Howard is the best interior defender/shot blocker in the league. Also the guy is a amazing passer and has a very reliable post game. People who are calling KMAN, Cousins or Emeka his equall are deluded.
While I would go crazy if we landed Brooks alone, I don't think the Nets will part with him. At this point, I believe Brooks is more of an asset than Martin. If the Nets want to go for Howard, then I could see reason (very little) to trade Brooks for a veteran shooter. But they would have to keep D-Will as well. If they want to rebuild, then they do the Lowry trade, but they would also keep Brooks. I just don't see why they would trade their star AND their young player with the most potential
The Nets will be desperate if the Ellis to Orlando trade goes through; we will have major leverage. The salaries on a Lowry/Martin for DWill/Brooks trade match up, given how reasonable Lowry's contract is. Plus, we need to save our expiring contracts for a Kaman swap.
If you need a replacement for Thabeet sign me.. I'm free and exceptionally skilled at sitting and watching.
We have to do this trade. First, Lee, Dalembert are replacable. I don't know that we lose that much this year. Second, Bogut would be a huge upgrade for next year. Third, Lee and Dalembert could help the Bucks win the 8th seed, which dramatically improves the value of the Knicks pick. This move hurts a little this year, but helps a ton for next year. it's a no brainer. you do it.

We keep posting here about the Bucks trade, when it's been indicated that Morey is pursuing another player. Of course, could be smoke, could be fire. Interesting that we keep focusing on Bogut. I'll say this: in that game against him before he went down with the injury, he was destroying us. I don't know his numbers from the game, but we couldn't do anything against him.
I'm curious whether the statement about the Rockets "pursuing another deal" refers to (1) a specific deal with a specific other team for a specific player or (2) just another deal in the abstract (i.e., not the Bogut deal). If you read it, it can have either meaning.
I just woke up: WE BACKED OUT OF LEE AND THE BEAR and a pick FOR BOGUT?? THE SECOND BEST CENTER IN THE NBA. Any news on what we are pursuing?
Like BimaThug said, it very well could be that we aren't pursuing anything in particular. Maybe they just didn't want what we were selling them, so we're looking for something else.
