I'm going to be in NYC this coming week, but I still want to watch the first game of the year. Does anyone know of any sports bars in Manhattan with lots of TVs and NBA League Pass? Right now I'm planning on trying the ESPN Zone in Times Square, but I'd like to know if there's an alternative. Thanks.
Park Avenue Country Club 381 Park Avenue South 212-685-3636 The name sounds fancy, but it's not an exclusive club or anything. they have 50 TV screens.
LOTS. Here's another one right here. A season or two ago, somebody tried to put together a Yahoo group for us to convene for games, but I think nothing came of it. Should we try again? The hardest part is agreeing on a location.
park avenue country club might be you best bet. i'd call to make sure they will put the game on for you. nyc fan also.
where do you guys live in NYC?? i live in riverdale (bronx, mainly jewish area), also lived in Washington heights for a while, as well as flushing.
I used to live in the Village and also on the Upper East Side, but I'm just visiting this coming week. I'm staying in the Gramercy area, but I'm willing to go anywhere on the island.
does anyone remember the group of clutch members in nyc that met up for a few games? i started a yahoo group, but things got unraveled quick. i still think we could have a good number of people show up to bars to watch games in nyc though. i would love to start it back up, but i probably am not a good choice since i'm even busier than i was two years ago when i gave it a shot.
I'm in Sheepshead Bay, so there's no way I'm travelling to the city just to watch a game at a sports bar when 1) I don't drink 2) I have a bigger TV at home, and 3) water doesn't cost me 3 bux a bottle. Sorry boys, but I'm a cheap and lazy ass b*stard.
I"m going to the Nets game Nov. 12. - we'll be in Section 219. I'm all for a NY group for Rockets game -- I heard there might be a bar in the W. Village that shows the games? Be great to catch the season opener with other Rockets fans somwhere! Williamsburg here so Gramercy or below would be great!
The last time I was in NYC I watched The Rockets a block from times square, in a small irish bar/pub... I had gone to ESPN The Zone but it was not really the place to go if you were solo. Well long story short... they lost by like 40 plus. Season over. Damn the Mavericks.
tycoonchip gets Rockets fans in NYC together and he generally watches the games at a place called 2x4 in the east village - i'm sure he'll be there opening night. Sometimes he also cooks...
