I notice that every now and then the Rockets (and Stros) are on 302, or whatever the Time Warner Fox Hi-def channel is....Is there a schedule out anywhere that lists what games will be broadcasted? I'm gearing up for the Jazz game and was trying to find out if it was in Hi-def thanks
Its all random. Sometimes the guide doesn't show anything for 302 but there is a game going on. You just have to check every game.
broadcasting games i believe is an extra 30% in terms of productions costs, not to mention the cost of buying new equipment for the broadcast. I do think its possible for the rockets to do that, but they must be able to recoup the revenue in advertising somehow. Of course if the rockets do well this year in the playoffs then it may increase revenue for next year. last years team hurt so much because after coming off a good season everything was set for the rockets to do well and then boom went down the crapper. maybe in 2 years. for example look at the suns they were a marginal playoff team before nash got there and now 3 years of having a great team has lead them to numerous sellouts in a row and a lot of advertising. i do believe a majority of phoenix games on fsn arizona are shown in high-def. just my .02
I believe the only time that they have it in HD is if ESPN or some other company is in town to run and HD feed and they just pump it into FSN. The game against the lakers was a ESPN game and they probably just tagged along on the HD feed since they don't have their own HD equipment. My hypothesis.
heads-up bump The TW guide shows the game tonight versus the Warriors on FSN-HD (channel 302) now, whether or not it *actually* shows it, I don't know.
Yeah I have noticed that and wish I knew. I think it has alot to more to do with FSN than Directv itself.
it is FSN if Direct or TW were to receive the game on their FSNHD feed, I'm fairly sure they would show it....I dont know why they would show some and not others, but I think we should get more next season as more stations ramp up their HD programming
