HOUSTON (Ticker) -- The Houston Rockets have a golden opportunity to begin another winning streak tonight when they host the woeful Golden State Warriors. In a matchup of the two hottest teams in the league, Houston had its season-high six-game winning streak snapped with a 92-84 loss to Minnesota on Tuesday. Rookie Steve Francis led Houston with 24 points, including 13 in the final quarter. Veteran center Hakeem Olajuwon has shown signs of rust and age in four games since returning from hernia surgery, but youngsters like Francis,Cuttino Mobley and Kenny Thomas appear to be the future of the team. Antawn Jamison had another monster game with 33 points and a career-high 21 rebounds, but it was not enough to prevent the Warriors from falling 117-103 to Dallas on Tuesday, their 14th loss in 16 outings. The loss dropped Golden State into last place in the NBA. Jamison scored 32 and 37 points in the Warriors' consecutive victories over Orlando and Golden State on January 17 and 21, their only wins during the skid. He rebounded from a subpar performance in Sunday's 99-81 loss to the Timberwolves with Tuesday's performance. Houston has won the last six meetings in the series, including a 103-95 decision on November 13 and a 108-100 victory on January 13, both on the road. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> One thing am noticing is that it seems that ESPN is pretty high on our "other" rookie Kenny Thomas , can anyone blame them ?
