Just wondering what you dish owners use to get the Rockets away games? Does the NBA Ticket, or whatever it's called, show ALL the away games? Or are you stuck with the great signal of Ch 55?

    Thanks,

Shows every game. Most of the time its Bill and Calvin but sometimes its the other teams announcers. Man you will be shocked to find out Bill and Calvin are probably the best TV announcers out there.

I got this from the DirecTV site. Seems you have to have the Platinum pkg and not just the NBA League Pass.

    Here's an example:

The Lakers are playing the Rockets and both teams are broadcasting the game locally -- KCAL-Channel 9 in the Los Angeles area and FOX Sports Southwest in the Houston area. NBA LEAGUE PASS subscribers living in the Los Angeles area will be blacked out within the Lakers' over-the-air territory. To see the game, they must be able to receive KCAL. Subscribers living outside of the KCAL coverage area will receive the game via NBA LEAGUE PASS unless they live in the Houston area. Subscribers in the Houston area will be blacked out of the game for NBA LEAGUE PASS, but will be able to access the game if they subscribe to TOTAL CHOICE, TOTAL CHOICE MOVIES or TOTAL CHOICE PLATINUM and therefore receive FOX Sports Southwest.

If you live in a community that is not effected by the blackout rules, or you can hack the DirecTV signal, you do not get effected by these rules and get every game.

I live in Austin, we get every Rocket game.

Loose the Dish and go digital...League Pass gets you all the games road and home....Of course unless you live in Houston, they're all road games! [IMG]

Bottome line: I live in Houston so what are my options of getting all the Rockets games on tv without cable? Anyway to get around the blackout rules WITHOUT cable (FoxSW and CH 55)?

Give a phony address to Direct TV. Choose a city outside of Houston. Then get auto-debit from your account so you don't need a monthly bill!!!

The only way around the Blackout rules is to get an illegal card for the dish. This allows you to watch everything no matter where you live.

Hypothetically speaking of course, how much would one of these NBA PASS cards go for on the black market???

All you have to do is buy a programmer, and you can put whatever script you want on the H type card.

The news group Alt.DSS.hack is a good source of info, if you are looking to read up on it.

It is illegal though, and they are cracking down on people who are selling HACKED cards.

I am not sure how they could catch the casual hacker though, there is no cable line going to your house, you are simply getting the feed through the air, like an antenna.

The best solution is to subscribe to DirectTV and pay for it, if you don't want to do that, then subscribe with a minimum subscription, get an old H card and put a script on it and watch stuff for free.

Check out <a href="http://www.vcipher.com">www.vcipher.com</a> for info and pricing on the DSS test cards. I've had one for over two years, and don't know what I'd do without it.

h cards are hard to come by these days since they stop making them about 2 years ago. The new cards are hu cards and they cannot be programmed.
