Next year the Rockets will be awesome. They won 45 games last year. Next season they will have relatively the same team, PLUS an improved Eddie Griffin, a sharpshooter in Rice for the zones, and a MUCH IMPROVED Kelvin Cato. Of the free agents this summer, the Rockets might wanna resign Torres and maybe Walt at a low price. So it's not farfetched to say that they can win 50 games. Plus, with the rumors that Taylor has slimmed down....Not to mention a possible lottery pick that we (unlike other gutter teams) have the option of trading or keeping. This team's future is bright and this season is nothing but a minor setback that has helped develop some guys like Langhi, Collier, KT, Moochie and we can see what Torres can do. Next year, we should leap over teams like Minnesota, Seattle and Utah, so hopefully we can be battling for home court advantage when the 2003 playoffs come.

I still want the final piece: Odom.

I'll give up anything outside of this for Odom:

    Cato (unless they send Kandi)
    Griffin
    Mobley
    Francis

i hope you're right and i think we should easily make the playoffs next year. keep up the positive thoughts!

sane- i second that except i take cato off the protected list. odom is the perfect man for this team.

Yes, Odom is the final piece of the puzzle, and maybe the Rox and Clips can do a sign and trade deal, somethin like

    Olowokandi
    Odom

    for

    Cato
    Rice
    #7 Pick

That would work out pretty well. The Clips need outside shooting desperately and plus Cato will provide inside defense. Plus the Rockets won't desperately need the pick because I think they could either put Collier as a backup or resign Willis for the minimum.

BigM, trust me, you don't want to be without a decent C. If they don't include Kandi, we can't include Cato.

yeah i suppose you're right, unless collier really gets in shape during the offseason. i'm just a huge fan of odom. but if kandi walks, i wonder if lac's interest in cato would increase. maybe kt and cato for odom and cap filler. than we use our pick for marcus. though a downgrade from cato, we now have a stud at 4 positions.

    steve
    cat
    odom
    eddie

    that seems pretty good.
