This has been talked about but it needs its own thread. With JLIII tearing up the summer league after really working on his game we should be pretty happy with our young talent! Of course Luther but also JL III have serious chances to become stars in this league! Chuckie and Novak also look promising i love both there games both very fundamental! I was wondering what yall thought of the young group. Thought?

Only NBA game time will tell, but I couldn't agree more at this particular time.
JL3 and Hayes seem pretty solid as does Head. Hopefully they'll get a shot at a little more playin time this year in those games were up by 20 or so.

Novak will be a solid contributor of the bench a la Bullard and Lucas is a 3rd stringer a la Scotty Brooks. Don't know about them becoming stars.

novak and lucas have been impressive, but it's best to keep in mind that dan langhi also looked like a stud in the summer leagues.

Im not kidding any one im just saying that he looks very good and has a good chance of being a succesful NBA player! Yall seem to think that i meant we are set for the next 12 years i was just pointing out that we will have some very nice young piecies in place that have a chance of devoloping into lower end stars! Ala ben gordon and an extremly souped up version of earl boykins. Yall guys can figure out which players im talking about.

Quick fact check. JL3 isn't in the plan of Rockets future yet. For all I know, Rockets could choose not to sign him fo rthe regular season, or someone who offers more could pick him up. So, pardon us not joining your parade.

I like the Earl Voykins comparison. I see absolutely no reason that Lucas couldn't get to that level of play.

Novak is closer to being me than he is Ben Gordon. As has been said already, he will be a Matt Bullard/Scott Padgett type. I don't even know if he can reach Kyle Korver level, but maybe...

Unfortunately I can't edit my posts, but that should be Earl Boykins, not Voykins lol

Novak's the one I'm really interested in. He's a guaranteed contributor to our cause. Tall, sharpshooter. Great pick, really. The others? Not so much. JL3, OK, but we still have a gaping hole in the 4 to fill first. Chuck's still too small. 3 inches more and he'd be of bigger value than Swift.

The problem with counting on rookies or players that have very little NBA experience is that you don't really know how they will perform once they get to the big time.

Novak, Lucas, Carroll and Hayes are all promising prospects and all may have solidified a chance at an NBA career with their summer league play, but none of them have done squat in the NBA...yet.

Prospects are not win now players.

Why is Luther not playing on the summer league team?

Our young guys seem to have the potential to be solid role players, but I would be very surprised if any became borderline stars.

I really hope our new GM does a phenominal job of drafting players over the next 3-4 years or this franchise could hit a brick wall when TMAC hangs up his sneakers.

In terms of where this team stands now, we have no future besides Hayes and Head. In 4-5 years, we will be in rebuilding mode once again. To capitalize on what we have now--two dynamic superstars--we need to at least get 2-3 rings in that span.
