Get used to being abused and dominated by Wemblyama for the next 10 years. I screamed and screamed that we needed to take Edey with the 3rd pick to neutralize that French idiot and instead we took the very short and useless (for a team that focuses only on defense) Sheppard. Rockets only have themselves to blame for this loss and the next ten years of dominance by Vic and the Spurs.

Unfortunately I totally agree that we missed a big opportunity in this draft. I love sengun, he is increadible when coupled with cutters and shooters. To cover his deficiencies, we have adams but it is questionable if Adams will be there when needed. Edey was the guy we had to draft.

Yeah an Edey is def the direction the league is going. Players in the playoffs would not absolutely eat him alive when his team is on defense. Rudy Gobert can’t even stay on the floor in playoffs much. I’m sure Edey though will.

Using a high pick on a guy who’s ceiling is regular season role player is the peak of insanity

Edey would have been interesting for any team ... now that this Draft looks like a total pedestrian one.

What if there is only 1 or 2 borderline All Stars in this draft.....lol .....the odds of hitting on 1 out of 2 is like nothing.

It would not be insanity because 98.99% of that draft are all role players.

The winning move would be to package that pick to trade for a Top 15 pick in a much deeper draft, kicking the can farther down.

But he’s also a regular season only role player, he can’t play in the playoffs. There’s no upside at all to drafting him

The problem with the Rockets was they always picked the consensus Top 4 picks.......we know with consensus that all the scouts are thinking lazily.

And the consensus was Reed Sheppard in that case.

They never surprised other than maybe Tari, Alpe or Whitmore, those were all picks that fell to their laps due to other teams missing on it.

The late picks have more value due to nobody really expecting them to do well. (Sengoon spearheading this as a potential All Star and Cam could be a 6th ManOTY to MIP candidate)

Guarding VW with a big instead of a forward who outweighs him is a tactical mistake. Unless you got a clone the way to press him is forcing his high center of gravity to accept that it won't be able to push through and isn't quick enough to get around. Force him to be a jumpshooter and live with the result. That's why Brooks, Tari have greater success than Alpe and Landale.

Victor has good form, it is a matter of time, I think the same with Reed.

He will shoot jumpers with accuracy again, it might take time, and it might take a little humility in working on his other skills.

He is good at gambling for steals but he has to understand that positioning and getting his hand up and using reasonable body contact is more important.

Jalen Green is the living example, I guess that can be done.
