Rockets Flashback -- 1/13/95 -- Max does it again!

I made this vid about 4 months ago,brings back good memories.

The only thing I got out of that was how much I miss Calvin...

 

LOL. Great memories. Those two highlites reminded me just how terrible Rudy T. was at X's and O's. Notice there's never any picks to get the guy free or any semblance of a set play. Two damn-near turnovers.

for those who didn't know, Vernon was the Spurs killer, he hated the Spurs for trading him like Marcus Camby to the Clippers.

Second Video:
Cassell vs Kidd, safe to say who'd I pick 10 out of 10 times to be my point guard at crunch time.

I was at that game (or was I? can't remember now, although I went to all of them while in college up here... maybe I was back down on break). Either way... Nice find.

what I consider the Holy Grail and the Arc of the Covenant of Maxwell videos

1. Vernon dropping 30 points in a quarter (A Rocket record, sorry Tmac you came close..)

2. Vernon, the Clutch City game highlights vs Phoenix game 3. 35 point explosion to boost the Rockets out of Choke City.

 

I feel you man. Him and Bill had so much chemistry. They made the games so much more exciting.

 

yeah but the Rockets team in 95 had lots and lots of turmoil, trades, injuries.
Remember Max and Dream were hurt for a long period of time. Dream had that heartbeat scare. We got the trade, no real Power Forward since OT left.

Big Shot Rob, didn't manifest til the playoffs. the record was deceiving because of all the above, that's why people have to watch the season to know what's going on.

Also shows how good a coach Rudy T could by keeping the team together and it showed how dedicated the Rockets team was to winning.

What I love is notice how the entire Rockets team celebrates at the end of the first video. Even Scotty Brooks was running around!

Isn't that game from the first video the one where Hakeem scored 47 points against the Spurs? I remember that. And I think he had another 40 points the next night against Deke and the Nuggets.

Imagine, 40+ points in back to back games on David Robinson and Dikembe Mutombo. Simply incredible.

i knew what that second video was as soon as i saw sam in that ugly blue jersey.

i didnt remember the exact play, but knew it was a high arching shot.


Sometimes, they play that retro music at Toyota Center.
