We have just passed the first quarter of the season. How do you think the TEAM AS A WHOLE did in the first quarter?

    A. Thought they would suck, instead they were competitive. Harden is a future superstar, and overall good development from youngsters.

I voted, but thought 'first quarter' actually meant the 1st quarter of a game. We seem to always have a slow start, letting the opposing team get a good lead and we always have to crawl back into the game.

Harden's been a bright spot, but coaching has been horrible. This team has the ability to have a much better record than it has now.

    C. Team has been average, hovering around .500 and inconsistent, but I love our direction. We have a superstar to build around, I think Lin only goes up from here, we found a young defensive anchor in Omer Asik, and I think a really solid role player in Chandler Parsons.

Also been pleasantly surprised with Greg Smith, Toney Douglas, and Marcus Morris. Also throw into the mix Jones later in the season (and possibly White in future years) and I think we're one or two moves away from fielding a top tier team.

They've been what you'd expect from a team with only one all-star.

    B+ as a team

I thought they would be absolutely terrible. They're actually competing well and taking it to good teams.

    Harden is a baller.

Asik is way better than advertised and constantly improving.

Chandler is doing a lot more than I thought he was capable of.

Morris has been a huge surprise. I thought he was a bust for sure. I will gladly eat crow on that one.

Greg Smith..I thought this guy was just d-league fool's gold a la Mike Harris, Pops Mensah-Bonsu, etc.. Turns out he's not. He brought his big boy pants.

Terrence Jones seems to be poised to contribute sooner rather than later.

Patterson has shown that he is capable of producing very efficient big nights when needed.

    On the flip side

Lin has been largely unimpressive to me so far. He still has time to turn it around.

    Patterson's rebounding is atrocious.

Harden's defense is so :(. But with the load he is being carried to ask, I kind of understand if he isn't fully comfortable doing it on both ends yet.

Motiejunas looks lost every time he steps onto the court in garbage time. I feel like his game's transition to the NBA might take some time. But, luckily, he has a few years to develop.

I've sadly had to be exposed to Royce White, who is, in my opinion, on the list of the most annoying people I have ever had to encounter in my life.

We're near .500. We've surpassed expectations of many of the talking-heads/pros. I voted "B". I'm pleased, but I feel we can do better.

I have very little confidence that Royce will ever be part of an NBA rotation.

I think there's no E in this type of grading system (ABCDF).

We lost the games we should have won, i.e. 2 Blazers games, Mavericks game and today's game against lowly Raptors. But we beat some teams we were not expected to beat, i.e. the home game against the Lakers, Jazz, Celtics and we almost beat the Heat and Spurs.

Sometimes our team looked fantastic, like when we played against the Hawks and Knicks, other times we looked like a complete bum team, like today. All in all, we look average and performed average. That's why I give it a C.

With this roster, I'm pretty happy with the score.

    I'm going C+ ...

I had really low expectations and have been really pleased with the development. It takes time to build chemistry and I think we are still struggling to find that. The teams been through some tough issues, playing under 2 different coaches has not been an ideal situation, for a young team looking for an identity.Would have probably given a B+ if Dmo and Jones would have seen some minutes.

I don't know how we're supposed to be grading, but for me it's an A-.

I see tons of positives so far... getting James Harden and watching him in his superstar tryout. Chandler Parsons has been terrific. Omer Asik hasn't had quite the defensive impact I expected, but he's been very good. Patrick Patterson has shown three-point range. Greg Smith and Marcus Morris have taken steps forward. Carlos Delfino and Toney Douglas have played well enough to "maybe" being considered trade assets as we head towards February.

Only downside so far has been the poor start by Jeremy Lin and the utter nothingness that has been Royce White. If I was to nitpick, I'd say a team promoting "A NEW AGE" should play a rookie or two, but the majority of players in the rotation are young with upside still.

If you're basing it on wins and losses, your grade may be different. Personally I think the long-term development and outlook issues are the most important, and for me that's an A- so far.
