I heard today on the radio, that starting Tuesday, the Rockets will be doing a new introduction of the players. Finally getting rid of the "Welcome to Clutch City...and it's time for a Rocket's countdown...(dumb music)...yada yada yada". Has anyone else heard this? Just thought I would pass it on... since no other exciting information is going on with the Rockets.
I feel offended when I am coerced to get "on your feet"..., when I don't want to figgin stand up. I paid enough money for my seat that if I want to just sit there holding my hot dog, then demmit I should be able to without the pressure from the public address to stand up. ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!

It's about time they got rid of that introduction. First the intro, next... the uniforms. My fingers are crossed. ------------------
Whoa, really? I talked about this back in October with the guy who sets all of that stuff up - really nice guy. He and I talked for about 30 minutes on that very subject and he said that they always thought that they needed to stick with the old thing out of "tradition." He compared it to college fight songs. I told him that it wasn't as if that song they were using was written specifically for the team and while marching bands may not go out of style, bad dance music does AND FAST! He said he had never really thought of it that way. I'll email him and ask what they are doing. On a side note, he showed me the computer program they use to do all the sound effects and stuff during the game. All of the files they use are .wav files they get off the internet. The program was designed by the Trailblazers. Very cool. ------------------ Me fail English? That's unpossible.
I, personally, would hate to see all of that stuff go, just yet. II love that stuff. If I miss that , I feel I've missed one of the best parts of the game. I know the song is kinda cheesy, but it isour song. I hope they at least keep it until they move to the new arena. Then, I would love to see a complete redo. New uni's, new song, new intro. I don't think that there really is any sense of Rockets tradition anymore. All tradition went out the door when they changed the uniforms the year after two consecutive championships. For the life of me, I can't figure out the whole mascot issue. What the hell does a bear have to do with the Rockets? As for the music, you have to play deafening music at a Rockets game to disguise the fact that none of the fans make any noise. So the Rockets can change their introduction, theme music, uniforms, all of that. It doesn't really make any difference. Just win. That's all I care about. ------------------ The Body Beautiful
