Okay, so the playoffs are right around the corner and although I don't post here on a daily basis, I read this site religiously every day about 100 times a day, okay maybe not a 100, but at least 50.

So, with the big playoff series coming, I would really like to get a group together in Phoenix to watch Saturday's game.. Please let me know if you know a good place or places where they show Rockets games in Phoenix or any of the surrouding places (Chandler, Scottsdale, etc.)

Let's go out and support our Rockets!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely can not wait until Saturday... let the anticipation begin.

Can't help you out...live in Houston.

How's Phoenix though? I've never been. I'm sure everyone is nuts about the Suns this year.

i don't live there either, but i've been several times when my sister worked there for 5 mths. it's a GREAT city!! i really like it! i know several ppl there, but none of them are from texas or houston.

i know of one very "texas" like bar to go to. it was in tempe and was the game viewing site for the local texas exes. best part was that they sold Shiner there! but i can't remember the name of it.

I've been to Phoenix. I'd give it a 'not bad'. Weather gets very hot and cold, but since I'm used to Houston humidity it didn't bother me at all. People were ok. City was metrololitan enough. Land was dry and rocky, but that's not really a bad thing. Wish I coulda played golf there.

And it's good to know we've got Rocket fans there!

I actually live in Scottsdale and it's amazing.. I grew up and lived in Houston my whole life, went to school in Austin and came out here. I think I am a Texas girl by heart. Thanks to League Pass, I have been able to survive out here, but I am ready to get back and be able to attend games and things. It is really fun living here with all the hype about Phoenix.. but I am such a huge Rox fan that I can't even think about the Suns. I also don't think they are going to go as far in the playoffs as people think, as long as we get out of the first round and catch them in the second! can't wait. Anyway, thanks for the responses.. still looking for people to watch the game with :)

I lived in Houston forever except for a year and half in Tempe. Arizona is beautiful. I miss it.

I was out there in during the 94-95 seasons when we came back and punked the Suns.

I worked with some pissed off Suns fans who looked great wearing my Rocket hats.

    They lost the bet.

Haha, trust me. I go to the games here decked out in my rockets hat, shirt, pants.. and make a heck a lot of noise when the Suns play the Rox and I can't tell you how many times I have almost gotten myself beat up! It's worth it. Houston has to beat Dallas, and Phoenix needs to beat Memphis so I can relive this experience during the playoffs!

    sonalikumar-

did i meet you?? i think i know who you are....i think i met you (i don't remember the name of the person) one of your first w/e in AZ (Nov 2003) and i met you at the texas exes game viewing party?

hmmm...i wonder if you're the same person. if it helps, i have a twin sister who was there too.

lemme know. i remember you being a huge UT fan so i think it would put you in the same book as being a big Rockets fan, much like myself.

Have you bought playoff tickets for the second round? My fiance is a spurs fan and dealing with that is tough, but at least I know that when we get to the WC finals we will take them out. But first the Mavs, then the Suns.... hmmmm the 1995 playoff run is very similar.

Haha, no I haven't bought tickets yet. I have a good friend that works for the Suns organization, so I'll be able to get tickets so long as my Rockets get there. Best of Luck!

Hey, I'm flying to Scottsdale next month, what's a good place to go watch the games? Maybe I'll try to attend a Suns game.

If they are still in the playoffs at that time.

thanks, at least our relationship is safe for the time being. She is die-hard spurs fan. I told her that if the rox lost to the spurs in the playoffs it might be a deal breaker

Depends on where you'll be, but some good places are Champs in The Biltmore, Fox Sports Grill / Goldies / Sand Bar in Scottsdale, there are several sports bars in Tempe. There is always the normal ones like Fox and Hound.
