To celebrate my 1000th post I wanted us all to look at how much we have in common as rabid Rocket's fans. This board can (and often does) become very adversarial. People call names, argue vehenemently, hurl insults, get mad, make really ugly comments and so on. But don't we all have some things in common? Despite our different opinions, our conflicting visions of what the team needs to do to improve, our assessments of players and coaches, WE ALL WANT THIS TEAM TO WIN GAMES, MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, AND ONE DAY WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Last night was one of the best played Rocket's games I have ever seen. Our guard play was superlative, Ming was awesome, teamwork was flawless. I was so excited, and so were you. I cheered and applauded, and so did you. We experieced what it is like to stand on common ground, Loud, Proud Rocket's Fans. I loved it, and I hope we have many more like it. Thanks to Clutch, Jeff, and the all the guys for this wonderful site, our best days are ahead.
I felt that way too.. I watched the game at a buddies house and my GF watched the game at home. Right after the game she called me and we started discussing the game and how great it was. She was impressed with the way SF played under control and took shots within the flow of the offense, while I gushed about Yao's aggresiveness this game. The boys had a great game (best one ive seen in a long time) and should be proud. I wish they would review this game often to show what they can do if they play smart. Controlling the turnovers and passing the ball was key to this game. Yao's confidence, and the guards penetrating were also key.. Very fun to watch this team when they play smart.. I think fans get frustrated with them when they dont show effort and TO's needlessly.. since we know what they are capable of.. but honestly last few games have been fun to watch, even the SA game where we hung around till the very end. I hope this is where we make the transistion from up/down team to consistent. I dont think we have to be great at this point but good and consistent would be enough for me. J
Thanks for responding, remember when the Rocket's were officially "unwatchable," even when they won. And it doesn't require much memory. Oh please, I hope this isn't a one-time event. Last night is the way we all want them to play.
