I just got a completely unsolicited email from the Rockets marketing departing to nominate me for the new Rockets Fan Council. The employees apparently nominated fans who are "caring passionate Rockets fan who can help us create positive change in our organization and in the overall fan experience....who can give a lot of personal time." Really? You want me? Ah shucks. And free piz.za!!! In the past I really thought sports team operated from another planet and got all their ideas from ESPN and MTV broadcasts, just like all aliens. This is a pleasant and thoughtful change. When the rockets were contemplating moving, I wondered if there was a disconnect with the community, as if the rockets didn't care or know about their fanbase, but this is a very positive affirmation of their concern for the local community. It makes me want to start a fan base website of appreciation. www.saveourrocketsfans.com I could report all the Rockets Fan Council meetings and post email addresses of the Council members. I just hope I can help. I think I'll run for foreman of the Fan Council on the ticket to buy windandsea a plane ticket to come meet Yao Ming, and to create a reserved Rowdy Section in the upper bowl of the new stadium with cc.net discounts and Rowdy Section ClutchCity T-shirts.
Oh yea....special places and prices for CC.net in the Summit?? You're in!! Sounds cool as hell...keep us informed..
That person louder than you is in Section 207, Row F, seat 7. Dark hair, uses a rolled up poster as megaphone. He's about 6'3 and very funny, and gets everyone around him involved in the game. That's my dream. A reserved Rowdy Section surrounding that guy, or one surrounding R0ckets03, teelo, BGM, TheFreak and his out of control friend, if we could get them to move to Houston.
Heypee in your dreams you might be louder then me. I've had old people give me dirty looks and then finally give up and just move. I've had security telling me to calm down on a few occasions. After every home game I sound like Barry White (or is that Manilow I'm thinkin of). Anyways, it would be cool if he could all sit together somehow. Occasionally it does get boring if I am the only person yelling in the entire vicinity.
R0ckets03: you are louder than me. I only start losing it at the end of the game. But you are not louder than the guy in Section 207, row F, seat 7, especially when you consider this guy is the hero of his section, rather than being asked to quiet down like you and jamcracker and TheFreakazoid. First off, have you have been selected as Power Fan of the Game? huh
Power fan of the game? The two people who get to move down right? Thats contrived enthusiasm. Those people (most of em anyways) only get loud due to their fascination of moving down. I'm always loud. Besides, teeloo and Heydude were selected Power fans of the game. One game I can't make it to and they select those two losers. I'm about 100 times louder then those two combined! I dont know they guy you speak of in Sec 207, but he sounds like my type of a fan. I talk and talk during a game, but it would be nice to sit next to some people who actually about trash talking as much as me. I admit I was not that loud last year. Thats because we sucked and most of the game I was depressed watching Moochie massage the ball. I am ready and pumped up this year baby! When the hell does the season start!
Yeah he was at the game with the big get together with Mango and DOD I think. He also came to Kennealys when Clutch dropped by. My height, but pretty damn funny lookin.

Originally posted by R0ckets03 Yeah he was at the game with the big get together with Mango and DOD I think.
Really, so that was teeloo and heydude?? At Kenneally's the first time, you said they were younger family and newbies and couldn't drink and you were babysitting them. Makes sense now why teeloo chose that moniker. It is so babysitter pet-namish.
What kind of crap are the Rockets pulling Now, do they have 5 yr olds running this organisation, anyone with half a brain would realise HeyP is So NOT a fair representation of Houston rocket fans.. ... he is the complete opposite of "caring passionate Rockets fan who can help us create positive change in our organization and in the overall fan experience....who can give a lot of personal time." At the end of the day he is a an ego maniac just seeking more attention especially from the sensible members of the bbs, my guess is myself, truth and rockets03 are the only ones with HeyP not on our ignore lists. Surely someone like Clutch or Jeff would be perfect for the Rockets Fan Council and a much better representative of rocket fans and members of this bbs.
Guess we'll be seeing each other. They asked me about this earlier in the summer and I said I thought it was a really good idea. There will apparently be about 20 people on it. They supposedly want us to meet a few times and the rest will be via email. Should be interesting.
Jeff, how will you be able to stay in the room w/ {oops, name omitted to protect weirdo} heypartner, the egomaniac? What happens when he starts drawing out plays for the 20 fans, where he holds the floor and you guys just stand around staring at him. p.s., it's good to know they care about their tv-fans too. The way '03 and heyp were acting, you'd think the payers would get a disproportionate voice.
Truth be told, the vast majority of the people that are probably going to be on the fan council are season ticket holders. In fact, I get the sense I may be the only non-ticket-holder in the bunch. But, at this point, I honestly don't know.
hey, 03, if anybody is goofy lookin, its heypartner he is that Egan character from ghostbusters. and i aint no newbee!!!!!!
Has it now become fashionable to slam heypartner? I liked this site better before this hyper-sensitivity and ban-crazy/ignore list, anti-troll trend set in, and my time away has made this all the more noticable. I still think this is a great site, but the level of negativity in here has risen noticably. Anyone agree with me?
upon review Jeff, I have to wonder, are the issues you guys will address primarily arena issues? Is there a more general topic, ie, I guess local coverage they'll discuss? This seems like a really neat idea; most companies in the Rockets' position seem to be aloof. If you get a chance, point out that rudyball is boooring. LOL
It oscillates, you haven't been around long enough to see the periodical waves. Besides, heyp has 10^4 posts. Anyone over 1200 posts is a dork and probably plays risk or dungeons and dragons in their spare time.
