Nope. I'm sorry. This trade has made the Rockets worse compared to teams behind us. Even though a case can be made that Aaron>Rafer, with Ron and Aaron now starting we have no scoring punch off the bench. Lowry is unproven and Cook is big zero. In games against Phoenix, Dallas, Portland, Utah, do we have any advantage at the PG position and from the bench? Nope. And what about leadership?? This should have been made in the offseason, but unfortunately this looks like a Van Gundy bogart.
This was the Bobby Jackson trade last year; and this was the "We won't get into the playoffs" thread.
You never know what a change of environment can do for the players. Maybe Cook can spread the court like Okur does for the Jazz and Lowery can keep the tempo going backing up AB. I still will support the team to make it to the playoffs but TMac comes back I will bail on the team.
Just to tell everyone, we cant tank this year because we got no first round draft pick but i don't know if it's protected or not
Seriously.... As much as I hate the trade I think we still make the playoffs. First round exit even though T-Mac is out?.....I dont know anymore.
We traded Bonzi Wells from him, that's not a big enough trade to end our season especially when Bonzi Wells was playing like a scrub at that time. Rafer is currently playing like a Top 10 PG in the NBA, and we decide to trade him then. This is different..A lot different. Unless this is our trade to get Clyde Drexler, I don't understand how this is good. Rockets probably will make the playoffs, but I doubt we will be that good.
I think you answered your own question. CURRENTLY playing like a Top 10 PG. Rafer is ridiculously inconsistent, that's why his apg is at 5. Sell high, buy low.
