Awesome to hear that Rockets are focusing on their biggest weakness: Defense.

Asik was a monster defender against the Spurs.

Sidenote to those who littered this thread earlier.

If you are too damn lazy to read, DO NOT POST to inform us how ignorant and lazy you are. You get no bonus points around here for being a douche.

Right now, I still can't dismiss the possibility of Home games+Easier schedule being the reason. But at least it does look like we're shutting down bad offenses now.

If the Rockets can achieve even average defensive status(currently 18th for the year), then perhaps adding an Iguodala or Josh Smith may be in the works in the offseason. Top 5 offense + Top 10 defense is likely 2nd level contender, the Grizzlies/Clippers/Nuggets range.

I don't think the Rockets are aiming for the Nuggets/Griz range.. Not Morey's or Alexander's style.

I think it depends. If Morey thinks there's room for further growth after we achieve 2nd tier status, I don't think he'd be opposed to it. Morey was willing to bank on a Gasol/Nene/Budinger/Lee/Lowry lineup just 2 years ago, after all. Granted, we didn't have a young superstar back then. So his thinking may have changed since.

I think that the Home games are significant for the fact that it means less travel time and more time going over film/drilling/practicing. Looking at the improvement numbers, it seems to be working.

Now if we could only close out shooters, then maybe we wouldn't be so bad defensively.
