Why is JVG keeping four power forwards and only two point guards who probley don't know the system well yet. Place Weatherspoon on the I-L now with Baker.

Heh. The past two games, we run out Rod Strickland and Andre Barrett at point guard.

Two days later, one is waived, one is sitting on the injured list, a Gary Payton phone call away from being waived. :)

I'm content with Mike James playing 30 minutes a game till Sura gets back. It's the other 18 I'm worried about.

For those wondering, when David Wesley was traded here, he played 24 minutes his first game off the bench, then was inserted into the starting lineup and got 41 minutes. With these days off, and more necessity, I don't think JVG will have much hesitation giving James the lion's share of minutes tomorrow.

Barrett did tweak his ankle in SA. Do we have 11 or 12 on the active roster with AB on IL?

Guess this guarantees we'll see Moochie on Sunday. Go Moochie, bring it my man.

At least Moochie can bring the ball past halfcourt and has a little more experience than Barrett.

well, i'm not really Mooch's fan but if yall remember when he was here, he always looked for Yao to pass the ball. Let's hope he'll do it again.

Mooch was one of the top 2 backup pg when signed that contract. That's what always seems to happen to our pg. Great year (Maloney all rookie second team), then starts crapping once we lock them up.

Nor do I, but if by chance it does happen, Barrett would be the cut and there wouldn't be much question.

Frankly, I'm a little surprised we're keeping him over Zendon Hamilton, though Baker's ability to play center in a pinch probably contributes to that.

A 4th string PG is more important than a 4th string center, I suppose.

    Edit:

tiger- We had to send someone to the IL. James (via Gaines) swapped Sura's place on the Active/IR, but by trading one player (Mo) on the IR for two active players (Moochie/Baker), we needed to clear 2 more spots. One was by waiving Strickland, the other is by placing Barrett on the IR.

    Active Roster:
    James/Moochie
    Wesley/Barry
    Tmac/Bowen
    Howard/Baker/Padgett/Spoon
    Yao/Deke

    IR: Sura, Ward, Barrett

I wouldn't be surprised if Barrett never gets reactivated, unless Moochie....plays like Moochie. One of the Baker/Padgett/Spoon guys will go to the IR when Sura gets back. Padgett's 3 point shooting should give him an edge, but he did log a DNP-CD against the Spurs. I think Baker will basically have a 5 game audition to prove he's better than Spoon.

I haven't seen much of Barret (had to move to Dallas before the season started), but I'm glad to know Moochie is gonna be getting time. Moochie is a good guy WHO DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE, ROCKETS FANS.

Barrett's ass needs to be on the bench, he's sooo terrible! I think Moochie is gonna be better than Barrett, at least he'll be motivated to do so now.

It's nice to see all of the I love Moochie threads out here. I just feel bad once he gets back on the court for the Rockets because he's going to get torn up on this board because he stinks.

I dont mind having Moochie getting some mins while Sura is injured. We already know what Barrett gives us so if Moochie is worse than we simply put him on the IL and take Barrett off it. If Moochie can hit the open jump shots than i think he deserves to be ahead of Barrett.

If Sura gets injured again later in the season (i pray he doesnt) Moochie/Barrett will be getting about 10-15 mins at the backup PG spot. Therefore, I think its important to see what Moochie can give us.
