Sweet! Video footage of the practice is EXACTLY what I have been asking for on the BBS today. Glad they are doing it! Very cool! Chris
Has anyone noticed that when Yao shoots his left hand is underneath the ball and not on the side of the ball? I've never seen someone shoot that way but maybe it's just because his hands are so big though I don't think Shaq shoots that way and his hands are pretty big as well. His shot has a wicked hard spin on it when he shoots.
Cool. I'm glad they did that so we can keep feeding our "Yao Ming Addiction". Did anyone else notice how Pine was in workout gear yet still managed to look like a geek? You can take the geek out of the stiff suit but.... Seriously,no knock on Pine, but I'm guessing this guy's translating assistance will be unnecessary really fast and he'll be strictly in the background helping Yao and parents make their cultural and environmental adjustments. It's gotta get really old, really fast having a guy in the middle of every single one of your conversations. Although it is NBA chic to have a crew so maybe Pine and the bodyguard stay around.
Wow. Rockets.com is turing out to be the best official site in the league. Yao Ming diary, pracitce coverage, photo gallery. That is pretty awesome.
CL, I think EG is coming over for defensive support, he's on the 'opposition.' There's another pic (Yao doing a little fist pump) that's described as Yao reacting to getting fouled, maybe that's the result of the move. BTW, on first glance that looks like an offensive foul on Yao on the drive (looks like he's hitting the back of Cato's head), but I think that's just due to the size difference. And Cato's 6'11". Just unreal that a person can be that big!
Either he's getting into position in front of the basket for weak side help on ming. Or his defender is a tool and he's completely open under the basket.
Can someone please explain how to insert a pic into a post? I've tried and tried and can't get it done. Sincerely,Ignorant and Unashamed
Anybody think that Tim is the one responsible for rockets.com becoming so good? And...I think it is so great how clutchcity.net and rockets.com are starting to complement each other. Before, one would never go to rockets.com, but now I go to both. I am pretty sure that the standard set by the whole clutchcity.net experience has been helpful in making rockets.com better.
I hope that the Rockets don't mind if we post some pics here - I would consider it fair use and it does not discourage people from going to rockets.com, on the contrary. Ming doesn't look like a skinny toothpick next to Cato, and Cato really does look strong! I have to say I have a good impression of how Cato has been handling the situation. If he can keep this up and follow it up with great performances in the games and if he could actually be the guy that protects Ming from dumbasses who want to foul him hard etc., then I can actually see this as a great tandem. And that is just about the first time I have something good to say about Cato...please, Kelvin, keep it up .
Cato is reaching in. Ming is blowing past him. Eddie is coming over to prevent the slam, leaving his man open on the other side. . . This is gonna happen in game time. Just imagine Cato and Griffin in this picture to be Shaq and Samaki Walker! Also, compare Ming's legs with Cato's.
SA Rocket, you're not alone amigo. Check out the pic of Ming sealing off Cato for the lob. And once again, Cato's a big boy. Let's say the wing has the ball, looking to make the lob. Cat comes off a screen weakside, the wing passes Cat the ball at the top with a lane to either drive (all Yao has to do is shield his defender), shoot knowing that his new 7'5" C is in perfect position for the rebound, or pass to Yao off a reverse pivot. Cat smiles and thinks, 'Choices, so many choices.' Makes you feel all warm inside, don't it? Now, what was that about Ming struggling to establish post position? (OK, I'll admit, I said the same thing at one time, I've given myself a 'Dunce' cap already)
