The song was actually only introduced after the first championship (during the second championship year). During the 93-94 playoffs, the Rockets ripped off the Bulls' Allan Parsons project music (which was also ripped off by the Suns).
are you sure??? i seem to remember KRBE having a bunch audio highlights set to this music for both seasons. i think i had both years taped for a while...have no idea where that tape is now.
Both of y'all are incorrect. The 94 Championship had a different theme song. A much more rap type song called Clutch City. I still remember Turbo coming down from the rafters while it was played. I used to have it recorded, but alas, that tape is long gone.

the Capella song was used as the intro music for the team. They used it for several years. Some before the championships and some after.
that's my memory, too. but i'm certainly not 100% positive. ALRIGHT HOUSTON!!!! ON YOUR FEEET!!! AND PREPARE!!! FOR A ROCKETS!!! LIFTOFF!!!! countdown capella song starts that's the intro i remember best.
