Anyone else notice this from the Chron's Rockets Notes: The Rockets are 14-0 against the Central Division and have two games remaining -- Indiana and Atlanta, both at Compaq Center. The 1982-83 Lakers are the only NBA team to sweep a season series against a division. Indiana and Atlanta are emminently beatable. This would be a fun fact for Clutch's Did You Know? next season. "Though they missed the playoffs the '00-'01, the Rockets swept an entire Division (the Central) a feat that had not been accomplished since the LA Lakers did it in '82-'83 en route to the Western Conference Title that year." ------------------ RealGM Gafford Art Artisan Cakes
Thats an amazing statistic, and would be a nice way to get into the record books. Probably says more about the mediocre Central division than it does about the Rockets, though. ------------------ In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.
that's very impressive, but it would be sad if the rocks don't make the playoffs. although i'd still be proud of the small run they've put up. ------------------ TheMugg
I have a bad feeling about that Pacer game ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Look who's taliking - Stop jinxing us out of the playoffs. * btw its my privledge to count FT points on my stat sheet before the shot is taken. It has always worked!!! The only time it has backfired is when you guys called it a jinx and when you did the same yourself - alas your jinx and not mine ------------------ We can reach our destination, but it's still a ways away.
Both games are at home, so already the odds are against them. Still, I think they'll pull it off. The Pacer and Hawk games are must-wins anyway. ------------------ I'm the most positive Rocket fan in the world.
