Rockets are only 3.5 games back on the Lakers and 4.5 on NO #7 Hornets 31-28 (Havn't played well lately losing 3 in a ROW) #8 Lakers 31-30 (Playing .500 ball the past 10 games) Kings 29-31 (Playing well since Artest trade) Utah 29-31 (Lost 6 of last 10 games) Rockets 27-33 (Won 12 of last 16 games) This week: Houston plays in Minn, then at home vs Indy Lakers plays in NO/Okla on Weds, then in SA on Friday NO/Okla plays Lakers, then Indy Lakers or NO/Okla could lose both games, Rockets just needs to win both! NO/Okla scored only 16pts in the 2nd hf vs Clippers & tonite only scored 9 pts in the 4th vs Phoenix they could finally be slipping. The Lakers I dont think could improve anymore they seem to win every other games. THE ROCKETS are the ONLY team of the 5 I think that can go on a 5+ game win streaks and play .600+ ball the rest of the way.
the local sports guys on the radio said that we can only afford to lose six games. we play san antonio and dallas a total of five times. That means we have to play around .750 ball.
He is a gametime decision. I'm not sure if he even know's if he will play tomorrow at this point. We can only hope and pray.
The Hornets face the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday in New Orleans, their first game in the Big Easy this season. How many people would show up for the game? Are there that many people back in NO. Hornets are 19-10 in Okla. City, wonder if they would feel the same "home court adv" in New Orlean for this game.
Wow...the ultimate insider speaks. Edit: And you joined the site at the same date as me and RIGHT after me!!! Are you my alter ego???
As long as we keep winning, we don't have to worry about what other teams do. Both LA and NO/OK have major holes. If we play well, we have a good chance of catching either of them. It's SAC that I'm worried about.
I think we match well against SA, but will probably lose all our games to the Mavs. With that said, eveyone is right. We need to win all the games that we are supposed to win and also upset a few heavyweights....SA and Detroit are definitely beatable!
I was watching some Evilspn last night. Whenever they show the westcoast playoff race, they only show NOK, LA, Sac and Utah. On other terms, them cutting off the Rox would be ignored, but their consistent rocket bashing has led me to think this is just another one of their stabs at the team.
nor should it be, if the guy is sitting out with a sore back (Not hurt mind you, but sore) he should be lambasted. Everyone is hurting at this time of year, great players suck it up and lead their team. I am sure Tmac will play tonight...he understands the importance. DD
Read my sig. If I'm not mistaken, any time McGrady has been a "gametime decision" this year, he's ended up playing. I would be shocked if he didn't play tonight.
Assuming we win tonight, we will either be 2.5 games out of the playoffs or 3.5 games behind the teams tied for the 7th and 8th spots. Utah's next three games are against Minnesota, Dallas, and Miami, while Sacramento's next games are against Milwaukee, Memphis, Dallas, and the Lakers. Again, assuming we keep winning, we could be looking at a one or two game deficit before we go into next week's SA, NJ, DAL, SA grinder. I believe that it is entirely likely that SAC and the Rox make the playoffs while the Lakers and Hornets go fishing.
Kam I agree with you !! If we play .75 ball then we can end up with 43 wins and possibly ,making the playoffs by the skin of our teeth. Having Tracy Mc Grady for every game is a must. If not, then we are NOT going to be in the playoffs. IMO
