im pretty sure wont admit to the fact that we probably wont be doing anything as long as we're stuck with mcgrady's 23M on the books. we're not gonna win. might as well develop aaron brooks.
I'll prophesize the BS: "We saw an opportunity to get younger and take a look at an up and coming player whom we think is special and has a future in this league" "We wanted to increase our cap flexibility with the recent news that the cap and tax numbers will shrink next season" "We think the world of Rafer and thank him for all he's done here. The decision to move him was difficult and we wish him all the best in Orlando." What the hell ever. Lowry had damn well better be an out and out stopper at PG.
we got a chance to develop a young point guard...everyday alston was on the court was another day aaron brooks didnt learn anything...
so that pretty much means nothing else has been submitted to leauge offices. meh, I expect about 4-5 minutes of Rafer trade discussion and 25-30 minutes of McPastry yapping.
One of the guys on 610 argued that with McGrady out, they need more scoring out of the PG position, hence Brooks and Lowry over Alston.
Lowry isn't a scoring Point guard, he's like Rajon Rondo and Jason Kidd. Great finishers with no jump shots. Great strong defenders as well. They got this trade due to clear some cap space and to get rid of the aging Rafer Alston. Rafer probably will fit in well with the Orlando Magic since they actually run and gun often. As some people have said on this board, This trade could have been to clear cap space to renew Artest's contract. We don't know how much money he wants or if he even wants to stay. Right now, it's better safe than sorry.
Aaron is a SG. I start to believe he doesn't know how to pass. I don't know Lowry much, but seems to be the same deal as AB. I just don't see how we are better.
hopefully we see this from cook <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-LpXBlU4lg4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-LpXBlU4lg4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
According to the numbers I've seen, we aren't saving a penny. It would actually add a couple hundred thousand next season if Cook picks up his player option. And I imagine both Brooks and Lowry are better scorers than Alston, no matter how they get it done.
Get to know about Kyle Lowry, hopefully he works hard and matures into a solid player. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E-SGSBtCEE
