Rockets Beat Grizzlies 85-76

    The Houston Rockets won their second straight game of the Rocky Mountain Revue with an 85-76 win over the Vancouver Grizzlies at the Salt Lake Community College. The Rockets were the last team in the ten-team event to win a game, but they are now 2-2 and the Grizzlies are currently 1-2.

    Vancouver led after one quarter 26-24, but the Rockets outscored the Grizzlies 22-17 to take the 46-43 halftime lead. Andre Branch heated up in the second period, making three three-pointers and had 14 points at halftime for the Rockets. Stephen Jackson had a dozen points and second overall pick Stromile Swift had eleven at halftime.

    Houston was led by Andre Branch with 20 points. He was seven of 12 from the field and made four three-pointers. Rookie Jason Collier added 13 points and Moochie Norris had eleven. Dan Langhi had ten points Kenny Thomas had eight points for the Rockets.

    Vancouver was led by second overall pick Stromile Swift with 18 points. Stephen Jackson added 17 for the Grizzlies. Darren McLinton added eleven points.

    The Grizzlies are playing without A.J. Granger, who left the team. He is getting married this Saturday. Best of luck, A.J.!

    Vancouver plays Chicago at 8:30 tomorrow and Houston plays Cleveland at noon tomorrow on ESPN2.

    Nice overall game for us. Also good to see Jason Collier is showing some flashes for us with 13 points, 5 rebounds. Not bad. Good to see we're on the winning track, even if it's just summer. [​IMG]

    I also get a warm fuzzy feeling from a win over the Grizz.

    What's with Tyronne Washington? 1 rebound in two games shouldn't command any time. They should give Axel Dench more time to show what he can do. I'm beginning to pull for the Australian making the team over Tyronne.

    Yeah, Dench is going alright!! He's really showing that he can make the outside shot (when he's set) and he's not slow and he tries hard.. we need a 12th man!!!!
