What does this tell you? Ming will probably never get the touches he needs to fully develop, but i hope I am wrong. The Sonics are number one in the league in assists.

It tells me nothing considering we've played three games.

It is only 3 games into the season. Winning is all that really matters.

Its only 3 games and these stats should motivate rudy to get these guys to pass the friggin ball around. I know is only 3 games but if this stat stays the same or close to the same we will never get in the playoffs

With the PG averaging 29 you're surprised.

Rudy is a terrible coach. The reason that our assist numbers are low is because we run mostly isos, and our offensive plays suck.

Well just look at the first two games. The first one there wasn't much passing after the first quarter. The second game they tried moving the ball around, and were horrible at it. It's definitely something they aren't used to. The more they do it though, the better they will get. In fact I think they turned the ball over more using ball movement.

Right now low assists is in part because of not passing the ball and ball movement, but in part it is because of ball movement, and that's something new for the team.

Why is everyone hung up over assists. There is no correlation between assists and making the playoffs. The nuggets are the second highest in the league in assists and they still suck. Andre Millier led the league in assist last year and the cavaliers still sucked. Miller is on the talented Clipps this year and they are still losing.

Assists are like this years fad gripe. Last year, it was defense and rebounds. They fix that this year, and we find something else to gripe about. At least defense has real correlation to how successful a team will be. So, I didn't mind griping about defense that but all this griping about assists is plain stupid.

And the Rockets are 2-1. So what?

Complain when the Rockets are under .500.

yeah, look at New York and Denver who are 2 and 3. How many wins do they have between them? 1 out of 7 games?

I do agree we need around 18-20 though to keep everyone happy and keep the ball moving.

Thank you. :) If we were 1-2 or 0-3 I would see why you would be complaining. But we are 2-1. :)

I wouldn't say that means nothing because its just 3 games...its telling you something alright...and I'm not saying its just SF's fault or Cat's fault only, even though they have alot to do with it. Everybody else including Rudy have something to do with the low assist ratio...At least attempt to play team ball is all I ask...

    We've played 3 games.
There are also over 10 players shooting over .500% from behind the three point line...

    Call me in a month:rolleyes:

We were LAST in the NBA at offensive rebounding the 2 years we won the championship.

Wins and Loses baby !!! That is all that matters.

Yup. :) We could be last in assists and finish the season with 55 wins and I would be thrilled. Wins are all that matters. Assists can help us get more wins, but if we play better when we have less assists, then I am happy that we don't get a lot of dimes.

nonsense...No correlation? come on....There is no way anyone can make it to the playoffs if you are last in assist as a team, just nooooo way in the long run a team can survive like that in my mind. LOW ASSIST NUMBERS WILL REALLY HURT IN THE LONG RUN...The nuggest suck with the higher assist numbers because they have no talent.

Offensive rebounds are not critical to a team's success...would be nicer if you have more, but its not a neccecity...

Low in assists is not a new (last 3 games) phenomenom...they were pathetic last season, too.

The Rockets were dead last in the league last season in the ratio of assists to Field Goals Made and currently have a worse %age in this category than last season. This may work against the Nuggets and Raptors but won't work against the Sonics.

There isn't any way the Rockets can beat the Sonics with their dismal 52% ratio. And yes, I'd be willing to bet on this (members with 1,000+ posts only). Are you reading TheReasonSF3? :)
