Will MDA's LOVE AFFAIR with Joe Johnson derail us?? I know Joe Johnson has been one of the top 30 players in the league over the past 10 yrs but this is 2018, not 2008. I know he hasn't played much this year due to injuries and he is working his way back into playing shape but his presence has made our 2nd unit slower. We can't constantly rely on EG hitting his 3's, as our only source for points off the bench. Last year, I thought we could've beat San Antonio but MDA chose to go with a bench rotation shorter than Kevin Hart. I'm hoping this year, his decision to go with Joe Johnson isn't his signature moment! I looked at Golden State the past couple of games and they are playing a rotation of 11-12 players. I think MDA needs to keep playing Green at least 5-10 mins a game to keep him sharp and Wright when he gets healthy. But funneling 25 mins or more to JJ, just because that's your boy may be MDA's signature playoff decision.
It's still a valid question. In his 5 games with the Rockets, Johnson is averaging 27 mpg. 27 freaking minutes per game. His +/- has been worse then the point differential every game. He's not been efficient. He's not rebounding. He's not passing. His ORtg is 102 - not great. His DRtg is 111 - not great. I said it in a game thread. I don't really understand the point of him? I think the main point is as a small ball 4. Which is fine. And makes sense. That is not a role Gerald Green can do. And someone has been injured/out seemingly every one of his games. I suspect his minutes come meaningfully down IF everyone can be healthy. We'll see.

MDA is all about trust. He trust JJ based on his previous experiences with him. I either think or I hope (not sure which one yet) that he will be playing much better come playoff time.
Joe Johnson is so bad he can lose the games single handedly at this point. He should get zero playing time. Big mistake by Morey to even sign him.
most def valid but once Ryan Anderson comes back Joe Johnsons minutes should decrease. You gotta remember that Ryan Anderson has missed 3 of those 5 games in which Joe Johnson has been here.

We don’t have ave a problem now... it’s regular season and he’s saving minutes from more important guys
Joe is trying to fit in, and he is feeling the pressure to help us to a title. Cutting down his minutes to 15 a game will make him effective. Give Ariza, Luc and Green some more minutes. Joe is a pro, I believe if he feels that he can't be helpful, he will ask MDA to bench him. CP3 and JH13 will persuade MDA to reduce Joe's load, if he doesn't show improvement.
I don't even get it, people b**** about not playing scrubs when players get injured. now they complain when MDA plays vets when our core is injured. We are winning every game, we have regular rotation injured every game, Joe Johnson gets minutes. there's literally nothing wrong with this.
