Okay here's the deal, the Rockets are on the board to draft. Suprisingly enough some good players are available at the 9 position because there were some guys who had awsome workouts and moved up in the Draft. Available are Miller, Miles, Johnson, Moiso, Etan Thomas, Pryzbillia, Alexander, and Richardson. Who do you draft with the 9th selection? And why? ------------------
Darius Miles- 6'9 small forward that is young and is extremely athletic and can jump from the free throw line. He fits in well with the team and the only weakness I see is probably needing a little help on ball handling and his shot, but shot can take work on and get better. Look at Garnett. ------------------ President of the Moochie Norris FAN CLUB
Moiso, he could be a solid player in a year or two and wouldn't improve our team much this season. That way we could have another lotto pick next year. I either want to improve dramatically this year or suck another season. Is that so wrong of me. ------------------ "Stranger things have happened, but none stranger than this" - Commentator after a parachutist landed in the ring of a Tyson fight
I don't want the rockets to suck next yr... (am sure most agree) I just want them to go out there and try their best , whomever we pick it will be for our benefit and hopefully our future as we work towards the ultimate goal .... another championship! ------------------ It's all about marketing !
My preferences in order are: 1. Miles --- huge upside 2. Pryzbilla -- rocketing up the charts! 3. Moiso -- a player to watch 4. Miller -- a player now I think at 9, you have to roll the dice a little and try to win big. They'll all be OK. ------------------ There are 3 kinds of people: those who can count and those who can't.
Miller to me is just a younger version of Walt Williams without the veteran experience, but of course with a lot more potential; but as of now Williams is hands down the better player. Darius Miles has potential and is highly recruited by college and NBA teams. But wasn't Othella Harrington the #1 player coming out of High School. High School is of course some glory days but it isn't as good competition as the College game. Moiso was regarded as a sure #1 pick once he decided to leave college but, now he is a forgotten player in this draft. Sure he has talent, but the College competition definatley rubbed that cockiness he possessed a little bit away. But Moiso still has some great talent. He is still a good player, being ranked by many as the third best power forward in this draft is nothing to yawn about. Moiso may have some of the highest potential after Swift in this draft. If I had my choice between all these players I choose Moiso if this team wants to win NOW. However if this team is content to make a 3 to 4 year rebuilding project I'd go out and Get miller. ------------------
Interesting, albeit scary comparison there. I remember when Walt came out of college, he was something incredible. Could handle the ball, shoot, score, etc, etc. I'm not sure if he was heralded as a great athlete or anything, though. And of course there's that "potential" word. That's even scarier. ------------------ ?
vince, with regard to Othella being the #1 high school player, that was as a COLLEGE prospect. There are different requirements and attributes that college scouts and pro scouts look for. For instance, Miles was not named high school Player of the Year. That point guard (I forget his name) won it. But all the PRO scouts agree that Miles is the best PRO PROSPECT out of high school. ------------------
Actually, I thought that a bunch of scouts agreed that Zack Randolph, who's going to MSU, was the best high school senior. Then perhaps Gerald Wallace. And the best Pro prosepects out of high school may be a couple of centers named Tyson Chandler(jr) and Eddy Curry(jr). Chandler is a shot-blocking maniac with three-point range and Curry is like Shaq at his age, but better. Also don't forget DeJuan Wagner, Kwame Brown and Eddie Griffin. ------------------
Oh, before I forget - Draft Moiso, you won't get anywhere in this conference without a legitimate low-post threat. ------------------
