Look at offensive and defensive rating. Thats why they are dominant now. Pointless stat to really focus on, doesn't mean anything. What really counts is how you score, and prevent the other team from not. lol

 

Not only are they dead last in pace, they are 2nd in OFFRTG, barely edged out by GSW for 1st place.

Those are fantastic numbers, because it indicates the Rockets are producing extremely high quality offense at a half-court setting. It means even when the defense is set and the pace is slow, the Rockets are still generating a lot of points every possession. We aren't relying on fastbreaks or transition offense to generate easy points, we are relying purely on quality half-court sets.

This is a very good pace for the Rockets to play at going into post-season. Playoffs will always have slower pace since every possession is significantly more valuable and teams play more conservatively to avoid high risk - high reward plays.

It's exciting to see that everything the Rockets are doing right will prepare the team for a post-season setting. No gimmick playstyle, just solid defensive and offensive execution.
