Cheers to a team that has rallied to gather and done a fantastic job. Only losses to Spurs, Lakers, @Jazz, and @Bulls. I'm tossing $8 to the tip jar in recognition of this 0.778 winning percentage.
At the same token, there are haters bashing Rick all the time. There shouldn't be that many negativity. We are playing great basketball. This is the first time I've seen our 2nd unit (without Yao) have some offense. Usually, we'd be stagnant. Plus, we played the most games (according to Hubie Brown). With all the injuries we had, we still have the same amount of losses with 3 other teams. They have to play catch up to us.
I'm sure most of us are happy with our current position, but you have to realize that this team is far from "clicking on all cylinders." We've had too many games that should have been easier wins, that resulted in either a loss or a game we barely pull out. Let's not forget, the losses against the Lakers and Spurs were against undermanned teams. Even last night against Detriot missing 3 major players we had to have 2 OTs to win it. Again, I'm glad we aren't losing a lot, but I am not quite at the point of proclaiming us a 1st round victor yet.
Of all those losses, the Chicago one obviously pisses me off the most because of the lead we mutilated. We should be a whole game over Denver at this point.
I'm not prognosticating anything or declaring the Rockets title contenders. Just giving them a well-deserved pat on the back for putting together a commendable record over the past 5 weeks. Evan
Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to direct my comments at you. I just get the feeling that the general fan base is getting a little *too* high about the team right now. I guess for those of us that know better, we know to keep your emotions in check, and don't get too high nor too low.
I love Yao to death and he's a great offensive presence. I just wish his defense would catch up with his offense. Also, knock a PG to the floor once a game and wag his finger.
Rox' players are good enough if given them a couple years to gel together. Most of them played for rox less than 2 years.
we've beat Suns, Portland, Dallas, Denver, Hornets, Cleveland. and I don't see much gap between us and Jazz, Lakers, and Spurs. over all, very good, except Landry got shot.
You realize there is more to defence than flashy blocks out of bounds right? Not sure if you notice this but we teams have at least a few players that can easily take one of our players off the dribble. Who is always there behind them to contest at the basket? Next game, count the number of contested shots, bad floaters, and penetrators who turn away when they see Yao. Then, watch our interior defence when Yao is out. Outside of D. Howard, Yao is the best post defender there is.
well, the same could be said for us on monday when we didn't have yao but everyone else stepped up their game. it happens, the bench wants to prove it belongs...their time to shine
This years Milwaukee loss is last years phili lost lmao i wonder which east team its going to be next year
Looking at the 18 games, the Rockets are becoming a very tough out. Basically had a chance to win any of those 4 losses and it took some extraordinary play by our opponents to get the win. If not for Michael Finley's red hot 3 point shooting and the halftime buzzer beater, the Rockets could be sitting in the #2 position. Kobe had an unbelievable 2nd half and the Rockets shot poorly from the 3 pt line, but we went down to the wire. The Chicago loss probably hurt the most, but it could be a game that teaches us that no lead is safe and may become a positive in the long run.
Hey guys tomorrow the spurs are playing the celtics in boston (hopefully they lose) and we win against timberwolves. Then shortly afterward we play spurs. Hopefully we win, stealing 2nd seed, top of division. But there is a negative side. The jazz are in 7th seed.... so maybe it would be better if we stay in 3rd? Idk maybe jazz might go up a seed? but then we would have to be in 3rd... Hopefully jazz go to 8th seed if the mavericks have a good push and then we eliminate either lakers or jazz in the SAME round
Party Pooper What is the point of being a fan if you can't get excited about your team. Yeah we probably won't win a championship this season. And yes the Rockets are not playing on all cylinders and haven't figured each other completely yet. But this is the most exciting Rockets team I have seen in years. I look forward to watching every game. They are improving and lest you forget they beat Dallas, Portland, Cleveland, Phoenix, Denver, New Orleans and Detroit during that stretch. Show me another team that has faired so well against that competition during the same stretch. If you think that is not a reason to be high about your team, especially when they are doing it without their starting PG and their 20m superstar and an injury riddled team. Don't be so critical, let the people have their pie.
