Not sure if this has been posted before... looks like EG couldn't get along with his former teamates...

Griffin calls his former teammates cliquish

The Rockets are going to love this.

Not only did Eddie Griffin do roughly all he could to betray their trust in him after everything the Rockets invested in his career, Griffin described his former teammates as cliquish.

"Right now I can tell, this is only my second day, but that more of the guys get along," said Griffin who recently signed with the Nets. "It is like all the guys get along. They relax, enjoy each other. That is something we didn't have in Houston. It was like a lot of cliques. We went out to dinner last night, and everybody sat down and enjoyed themselves, and that is a good thing."

Rockets players generally did not spend much time with Griffin away from basketball, though they had said in the past that was his choice. However, they did go to any extremes necessary to defend him when he skipped practices and a road trip and when he was accused of striking a woman three times and firing shots at her.

The Nets have hired a woman to help Griffin handle his life, and hope to avoid the episodes that ruined his Rockets career.

"He has a person helping us organize him," Nets senior vice president Ed Stefanski said. "She's employed by us."

Said Griffin: "Right now they got some lady helping me out, just finding a place to get settled in, and I am glad they are doing that for me. She doesn't work for the Nets, she works for the NBA. I am glad she is helping me getting settled."

yeah well those cliquish bastards he speaks of supported him when he was going through all that and after every training camp practice they had to answer questions about his ass all day and they never said a bad thing about him and they went out of their way to show support for him. This Griffin dude belongs in New Jersey with those punks Martin and Jefferson.

Kinda hard to fit in when you decide to not go to practices, are given a suspension for drug use, and try to shoot your girlfriend.

It's also important to note that Eggie ( baby in Korean) was also a minor and probably still is if im not mistaken. It's got to be hard when guys are 6+ years older or what not. I think Eddie is just trying to throw a cheap shot at his former mates. Rockets gave Eddie much praise at his talents and supported him.

    there is no clique

but seriously.... there is no clique

as an aside that is no different in any team in any sport, some hang out togther all the time, others have smaller groups of players that get along better away from the court (games)

I'm sure MJ, Pip, Horace, Rodman, Kerr, Judd and Luc Longley hung out together being fly all the time......

sounds more like it was Eggie has introverted pot smoking personality....... i mean didn't that show the other day have Cat having out with new acquisition Jimmy Jax.......

I just realized how much of a loser Eddie Griffin is. He seems to blame everybody but himself for everything that has happened to him. Don't worry guys, this person will never succed at life and fall flat on his face in every thing he does.

I am becoming more and more bitter every time I hear something about or from that biyatch EG. I try not to be a hateful person, but I hope the Houston court system finds something good that can lock him up for sometime. It sounds like he needs a good ass kicking to get his head straight.

I understand that one of the cliques spent all of their time discussing how to hit women and fire guns.

The Rockets are very cliquish. It's not easy to be included in their clique...all you have to do is not shoot at your girlfriend.

Screw Eddie Griffin. The way this team and organization stood up and supported him, despite him whining about playing time, getting into drugs, and not working hard. Part of the reason for trading KT was to get Griffin some playing time, and he responded by not even beginning to work hard and then getting into off-the-court crap. This guy is a loser. I've lost all respect for Griffin.

The Rockets did have cliques when Eddie was here, basically, it was divided up into two factions:

    1. The guys that came to practice and worked hard; and

    2. The guys who were lazy, skipped practice, didn't give a damn, and spent their spare time beating up their girlfriends and then trying to put a bullet in the chick's head with their 9 mil.

Guess which one he was in.

I'm trying to figure out what the cliques are.

Steve, Cuttino, and Mooch- that's a given.
Yao and Boki- playing video games all the time

What other cliques are there? Why didn't Eddie hang out with Mo and smoke some?

Anyone else find that kind of funny?

This would definitely be more words than he said his entire time with the Rockets.
