http://aol.nba.com/features/milestones_0607.html Here are some Current and Ex-Rocket possible milestones to be reached this season: 15,000 points tmac needs 1,430 juwon needs 483 cassell needs 695 10,000 points the good old boys, cat needs 248 steve needs 106 1,000 3's cat needs 95 all-time blocks deke needs 36 to become #2 all time, passing kareem and staying behind the master, HAKEEM. 5,000 rebounds big shot bob needs 69
Can't believe you forgot Kelvin... Going into only his 11th season, Cato's only 62 points shy of 3,000, needs only 6 assists to reach 250, and only 11 steals to attain 300 . To put this in perspective, the "great" Hakeem Olajuwon that everyone around here seems to like more than my man Cato only managed 2,005 points, 255 assists, and 133 steals. (In 94-95)
I can't imagine he's keeping fit, but a 7'er to (apparently) not get a call sounds so Kandi-esque (who had to pay his way to try out for the team which did not re-sign him as no other team offered anything, either). What is the NBA coming to when tall does not mean a contract?
Cato signed with the KNicks... NEW YORK, October 25, 2006 – New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Isiah Thomas announced today that the team has signed free agent center Kelvin Cato to a contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal are not announced. Cato, 6-11, 275-pounds, has career averages of 5.6 points and 5.4 rebounds in 523 career games with Portland, Houston, Orlando and Detroit. Originally selected by Dallas with the 15th overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft, Cato was traded on draft night to Portland where he played for two seasons before being traded in a seven-player deal to Houston for Scottie Pippen. Cato played for five seasons in Houston before being traded, along with Steve Francis, in a seven-player deal to Orlando for Tracy McGrady. After playing in 85 games over a season-and-a-half for the Magic, Cato was dealt to Detroit on Feb. 15, 2006, where he concluded the 2005-06 campaign. http://www.nba.com/knicks/news/cato_061025.html
