I bet that's what we feel like doing right now. Pippen has confronted that his time with Portland was mostly a waste outside the first year. He said that Paul Whit****t had a decent team in his first year there, but kept trading & trading players to beat the Lakers in which none of those combinations worked which caused Dunleavy his job. That manager never was patient and never had the confidence to let the players' mesh after the defeat in 2000 in which they had the mounmental collapse. 2001 never helped manners because of the Rasheed fiasco. Of course most of it ain't Pippen's fault, though he said that he appreciated how the Blazers took the Lakers to game 7 and never felt upset about blowing a 15-point lead in that 4th quarter. He was to proud of himself then to let his skills flourish there. Given the talent dilemma though, I don't think any great player can survive the constant presses in the locker room. He's even upset about their offense.

So while Portland did win the trade for one year (2000), we look to benefit in the long run from it since we got some extra depth (Cato is playin' Great) and Portland never really upgraded outside of Bonzi Wells. We'll be on the rise in a couple of years while the Blazers will be so-so. Rocket fans were tryin' to tell the Blazers earlier. With 2 more years in Portland than the lone lockout shortened season one here, he has only two more playoff victories. That's somewhat of a bust.

I hope you were joking about Cato playing great? If he was any lazier he'd take a damn lazy-boy out on the court with him when he checked in.

I do not care about what Pippin thinks. He reminds me of that old man I work with who everyone tunes out. He cries all the time, and no one hears him.

I have been wanting to say this for years- Pippin has become irrelevant on a team in a slide. No amount of money has bought that team a championship. In 2 years they can become the Knicks.

i thought this was going to be a thread about all the drug-user/basket cases in portland that we use to laugh at... until it happened to our team:(

we never got rolled in that trade. we rolled ourselves by giving cato a huge contract paying top dollar during/for his development years rather than his years as a productive player. now that he doesn't have the pressure of filling hakeem's shoes, he's a very good member of our team.

You took the words right out of my mouth KeepJuaquin. On the night where the Rockets had a playoff berth to catch, they should almost a record-low shooting of 29.5 percent. They had a nice lead in the first quarter but just couldn't throw the ball in the Galveston Bay after that. When they're shooting colder than the weather here today in April (got up to around 37 today), you know they're shots are off. Larry Smith and the Rockets once again failed to make serious preperations for the game. One and a half out with four to play. Can we do it??
