Rocket doesn't suck -> just not championship caliber!

After reading all the depressing post, a little reflection on realities of NBA is needed. Rocket doesn't suck, New York, Orlando, Chicago, Toronto pre trade, Phoenix, Utah, Golden State, Memphis and almost every other Eastern Conference Team. That's 2/3 of NBA. Thank god! At least half of the teams in the NBA are envious of the Rockets.

The truth is Rockets is painful to watch. That's JVG for you. Only Knicks fans like winning ugly. But he is a good coach and will win for the Rox like Popvich and the Spurs. For the positives, Rox has two bonafide stars who are on the cusp of greatness.

As for the Rockets as a team, if you take a critical evaluation of the team as a championship contender, there's obvious personnel problems. Stevie and Yao play different style of basketball, and really they shouldn't be on the court together with the current personnel. It's so painfully obvious as the rockets turn the ball over time after time. I don't think it's JVG offense or Rudy ISO. The supporting cast is simply inadequate for a championship contender. Spurs, Minny, Lakers, Pacers, Mavericks are 8 deep. The bench for all of those teams would be starting for the Rockets. As for the Rocket supporting cast, I would only rate JJ, Mobley. and maybe Cato as adequate for their support roles. Pike, Griffin, Wilk, and Boki have been very dissapointing. In other words, our bench really sucks. Unfortunately Rockets doesn't have any draft picks and are saddled with horrendous contracts. Only one to blame here is the management. Remember Les thought Rockets as one of the most talented team in NBA? In truth, 2 stars + 2 man + bunch of scrubs gets you a decent team in the NBA, not a championship team.
