Lemmy's from Motorheads old band (they have a song called Motorhead I believe). Good old stoner stuff with a sci-fi edge to it. Hard to find though. Never heard the live album, I really need to now...
Hawkwind is/was a hard band to describe to someone. Sort of a cross between PinkFloyd and Black Sabbath on seriously high dosages of LSD. Lemmy (Motorhead) was in the band so that explains a little bit of it. I think they typically toured and played with naked dancing girls and psychedelic light show. My favorite live album has got to be Lou Reeds' 'Rock n Roll Animal'. It's kind of weird to see Thin Lizzy getting props after all these years. They used to play in Houston all the time. I remember seeing them with Queen at the Houston Coliseum and a couple times at the Music Hall too. Can't remember who they were playing with on those shows. That was quite a few quaaludes ago
deleted - hawkwind question already answered. check out space ritual if you check out anything. motorhead is better though. scoreboard = lemmy.
Finn man! All you need to know about hawkwind! Warrior on the Edge of Time Oh man! So many memories I've forgot!
I second Lou Reed's "Rock n Roll Animal" as a favorite. The Who "Live at Leeds" is another. Neil Young's "Live Rust" is awesome. Zappa's "Roxy and Elsewhere" and "Woodstock"
