Yay! Still would have liked the Sex Pistols and Black Sabbath to have been inducted, but I like all of these groups. NEW YORK (AP) Three British exports from rock's "new wave" of the late 1970s -- The Police, The Clash and Elvis Costello and the Attractions -- will join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year. They'll be inducted along with the Righteous Brothers, blue-eyed soul singers of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'," and Australian hard rockers AC/DC. The 18th annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held March 10 in New York and televised later on VH1.
The Rock n' roll hall of fame is just an excuse for Paul Schaeffer and other current-day musical hacks to jam with some great bands, thus ruining their songs in the process. I'm sure everyone is really looking forward to hearing Avril Lavigne and Billy Joe from Green Day do a "London Calling/Rockin' the Casbah" medley. Then again, the awards night is always a chance to see how much Keith Richards has decomposed since the previous year.
I'm superglad that AC/DC finally got in. They are a great band that has maintained their style over 30 years and stayed true to who they are!
