Generally in the NBA the home team wears white, or a lighter color like the Lakers yellow, and the road team wears a darker color yet this season I've noticed a few times that the home team has been wearing the dark uniforms while the visiting team wears white. I'm just wondering what are the rules concerning this and if so why don't the Rox just wear their road red jerseys at TC? In the NFL I know its generally the rule that the home team wears the dark jersey yet this doesn't seem very consistent and it seems like some teams, Cowboys and Dolphins, almost alway seem to wear white jerseys on the road or at home.
the cavs had new a new alternate home jersey, and they wanted to showcase it to their fans on live national tv today. I remember the Rockets playing the Raptors, and this also happen. We wore our white unis, while they wore a red alternate. in the NFL the rule is the home team gets to pick. Miami wears white cause they play in Miami, and it's hot. It's the same reason why the Texans do it early in the season. The Cowboys normally wear white tops because it looks better, i guess. Plus they seem to lose wearing the blue.
the cowboys and redskins both dont like to wear their dark jerseys. since they wear white at home and most teams they play on the road wear their darks at home, the cowboys and redskins almost never wear their darks. sometimes teams will even wear their whites at home on purpose to force the cowboys and redskins to wear their dark uniforms, which they despise
For the life of me, I've never understood why NBA teams wear white jerseys at home. Not only do the road jerseys feature the teams primary color, but road jerseys generally outsell home jerseys in the NBA, which leads me to believe that the home fans would rather see the road jerseys when they go to the arena...
Well probably not answering your question but its like that on all levels of bball down to jr. high. on a sidenote the steelers are the home team for the super bowl but aren't wearing their black jerseys.
It was explained here before. And the steelers picked the white one because in the playoffs they had win with the white jerseys and want to continue the lucky win streak.
