road trip

    hey guys i was thinkin about driving up to san francisco from L.A. for the thanksgiving weekend. anyone from L.A. ever done that and how long is the drive?

    where is a nice inexpensive place to stay in san fran. thanks

    I've made the drive a couple of times. How long depends on if you take the scenic route or the fast route. Taking Highway 1 is an experience and you should definitely do it on the way up or the way back, whichever. You may not want to do it both ways.

    The drive is about 6 1/2 hours the fast way, if I remember correctly.

    San Francisco is a very expensive city, and I don't really know of cheap places to stay. I had a friend in Palo Alto that I stayed with one time, and another time I stayed outside of San Francisco in the wine country.
