We’ve had the most road games in the NBA and this long road trip clearly shows. The Rockets look tired. I’m not trying to make excuses, but it’s fair to ask are we simply bad on the road, or is this a discipline and focus issue when we’re away from home?
The Thunder play 2 fewer games in April, likely 1 fewer in March and surely 1 fewer in February. That is how the league 'rewards' the Rockets for having played fewer games than everyone. This type of games can be the difference maker between HC advantage team, Playoff team and Play In team.
It’s ridiculous. All this travelling. This is an unbalanced schedule and whoever designed it should be fired.
Fatigue is certainly linked to not having your legs under you when you shoot. Reminds me of MDA teams who would get progressively more exhausted as the season went on. Heavy road schedule to start the season with multiple injuries is something you hope to overcome, but if we're realistic at some point it will catch up to you. Adrenaline and bravado and 'next man up' thinking can't last for months. It can only bridge smaller gaps. Hope you're right. I think what's being underestimated is that we're almost halfway through the season and we don't have a stable lineup that has had enough repetition to build chemistry.
+1 on ''stable lineup, repetition and chemistry'' keywords. I'm not blaming Ime -at least not recklessly- considering these factors. He's been dealt a bad hand. Regardless, I'm still skeptical in the promise of what this will turn into come PO time.
We have lost 9 games to bottom feeder teams, Sacremento has 22% of their wins against us. it ain’t the road. DD
It's both. The road doesn't help, but losing to EVERY scrub team is more than just the travel. There's no killer instinct in this group. They are absolutely underperforming relative to where they should be as a team. They think they are better than they are. I don't want to use the word "soft", but these guys are NOT the same as they were a year ago.
I haven't noticed anything besides from occasional KD's frustrated hand gestures. What else am I missing?
and to top it off! Very boring road games. Nothing to do in Portland and Sacramento. We need Vegas and Miami road trip games only.
Sengun ,FVV and Dillion was a BIG Part of this team last year. You can see. Durant with just Amen, Bari,Reed, Injured Eason. May not get you were you want late because either Amen needs to have super game, or Bari does for them to win, thats even saying Durant can score 30 at least. Just too hard! Rockets lack 1-2 shooters off the bench to get you those 12-16 ppg, when you need it!
Btw did you see that one game when Holiday came off the bench and scored 23 or something? Thats what the rockets need. We won that game. Include are main 3 guys Sengun, Amen and Durant having good games.
Losing to pure garbage teams like the Kings is a mental issue, not physical. We should absolutely wax them even with half a tank. There is no way anybody on this roster should get outworked by Dylan freaking Cardwell.
“You’re playing basketball for a living, OK? I understand, if you work in a coal mine, that you may need a rest day. You’re playing basketball. The joy that comes with competing in basketball — it’s fun to play. I never got tired in a game. How can you get tired in a game? You’re playing basketball. I don’t understand this. Honestly, I start thinking I must have missed out on something, the 9-to-5 (job) the guy’s doing before he comes to the game. He must be putting in some serious work in the mine, or doing something. Maybe he was a logger, maybe he was chopping wood. You’ve got all day to sit on your rear end." ~ Kevin McHale
I dont want to make excuses and we should be able to win on the road especially against bad teams. I think beside Ime we should also blame Jabari Jabari Smith Jr in losses this season: 4-13 FGM (tonight) 6-21 FGM 2-13 FGM 2-13 FGM 6-16 FGM 5-18 FGM 7-20 FGM 3-14 FGM 3-9 FGM 2-6 FGM
