Rituals or superstitions while watching the Texans?

    Wondering if anyone has strange stories about watching the Texans on TV?

    One of my strange superstitions is that if things are going bad I will change the channel hoping that will change the luck. For example, if the other team scores or the Texans go three and out, I'll change the channel during the commercials in order to get rid of the bad luck. On the other hand, if things are going well, like a Texans defensive turnover or a Texans score, I will not change the channel, thinking I better not mess with the luck.

    Another strange thing is the Texans record depending on which TV I watch them on at home. A couple years ago I got a really nice 50" plasma. The first game I watched it on was that Jets/Texans game back in '09. We know how that turned out. Ever since then the Texans tend not to do well whenever I watch them on the plasma. I sometimes have to watch them on an old generation 32" LCD TV. The Texans record is much better when I watch on the 32". I don't keep records but the Texans have a losing record watching them on the 50" and a winning record watching them on the 32". Needless to say, I will sacrifice my viewing pleasure and watch Saturday's game on the 32".

    No superstitions, but god do I love waking up at 11:55am on Sundays and flipping on the TV in front of my bed...

    if they're not playing well while we're watching in the den, my son and i go watch it in the playroom. it totally works. i know you're all counting on me.

    I can't say that I have any Texans related one, but I do have some Home Toyota Center ones.

    I have to park near certain streets, and take certain directions.

    I don't have a routine. It's usually wake up at 10, or wake up at 1130, or wake up at 9. It all depends on when I wake up, and every Sunday, it's different, so nothing is routine-ed yet.

    haha, sometimes I do the channel flipping thing too Jet Blast, but I have done this with the rockets before more than I did it with the texans.

    Also I sit in one side of the couch, if things are not working out I go and sit in the other side of the couch.

    I have a friend and when he watches the game we lose... He's currently chained up and gagged in my basement =)

    I always drink this old beverage called "Beer" when I watch the game. Sometimes I even drink several.

    Every time the Texans play, I find a place to sit down and watch the game. LOL, I don't have any traditions, I've switched Universities once and have changed apartments every year for the last 3 years, so I haven't really fallen into a routine. Once I have a permanent address with a job and all that, I imagine that I'll have a few traditions.

    Texans are 2-0 when I'm at the game this season. So y'all should gather up some money to send me to Baltimore. :grin:

    Not really before. But with last week's win, I'm forcing my friends who were over to come back this Sunday and bring the same food. I'll drag their asses out of bed if I have to.

    The Texans are 8-2 when my boys wear their Texans gear. And one of the losses was the last titans loss, which really doesn't count.
