Monday will mark the 12th year anniversary of his death.

Still the greatest lyricist of all time....

How could you even leave Rakim out of that list? Chuck D couldn't even sniff his buttocks as a lyricist.

In my opinion, Biggie is the greatest rapper of all-time, Or one of them at least. He's way better than 2pac if you ask me.

Here's one of my favorite songs that also has a Hakeem Olajuwon Mix in it

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nsT-Zda9sjw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nsT-Zda9sjw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Song is Dream Jay-Z featured Biggie

For the original one I could only find the instrumental

This is not the original beat but the lyrics are.

I got a Story To Tell was my favorite song by B.I.G.

I like Biggie, but he only dropped 3 real albums so it's hard to give him the distinction as the GOAT or whatever. I would go with Tupac as well. He did it on the east coast and the west coast and he did it over a longer period of time. That instrumental is tight...appreciate you posting that Shaud...one of my favorite Biggie songs too.

No way Scarface is above KRS-ONE when it comes to lyrics.

Can't believe it's been 12 years already. I was in the 7th grade when I traded Jodeci's : The show, the after party, the hotel album to some fool for Biggie's first album Ready to die. Seems like it was just yesterday. Damn, time flies.

No prob it's one of my favorite songs of all-time also. I love mellow rap songs like that. That is why 2pac and Biggie are my favorites. I still listen to both of them just about everyday.

I got a lot of 2pac and Biggie Instrumentals. You can download them at Datpiff.com

Top 5 lists are objectional. It took me 25+ years to realize that and I'm 27...

You can't tell a 17 year old kid from Atlanta that T.I. isn't a better rapper than Big Pun. You can't tell a 40 year old dude from the New York that Eminem is more lyrical than Rakim... and so on and so on. Also, you can't tell a guy named bladeage that Drizno has a better sniper gun than he has! ;)

That said, RIP to my favorite overall rapper/MC. IMO, he was just hitting his stride as far as flow, wordplay, and swagger is concerned... Listen to Victory, Long Kiss Goodnight, or *****s Bleed...

Ready To Die and Life After Death FTW!!!

Where's Kurtis Blow and Melle Mel in this discussion
    :p

BIG, Tupac, Big Pun, Big L (thats a lot of "bigs") too many hip hop losses in a short period of time. Them dying opened the way for 2k hip FLOP. I dont think BIG's the greatest, artists get more revered after they've passed. But no doubt he'd be able to put out a decent album now.

he's definitely top 5, but of course it's all subjective, pac, biggie, eminem, rakim, and not in that particular order.

I don't like Tupac. I don't see what is so great about him. There are a lot more better rappers than him. What is all the hype about?

    Biggie was pretty good.
