No info regarding the cause. Know her mainly from SNL skits where she was quite good and her iconic role as the Alamo tour guide. RIP
When I first saw the story....it was with a picture of someone I didn't recognize...so I didn't exactly know who it was. It wasn't until they started showing SNL clips later that I realized who it was. Damn she was so funny on SNL! She was just as important as all the men in the cast at the time she was on SNL. RIP
As a big SNL fan, really sad to hear. <iframe width="640" height="360" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="https://screen.yahoo.com/brenda-waitress-000000407.html?format=embed" allowfullscreen="true" mozallowfullscreen="true" webkitallowfullscreen="true" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>
Too bad; her and Jackson deserved much bigger post-SNL careers, whereas Dunn, like Gasteyer, pretty much got the most out of her persona and writing connections. Sweeney got pretty sick for a while, glad she's seemingly better. Admittedly, though, the only specific character I remember Hooks doing was some lounge singer with Dunn, especially that Christmas carol. Carvey's had some pretty serious health scares ("my bya-boon heart!"), glad he's still around.
Probably the best ensemble sketch in SNL history <iframe width="640" height="360" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="https://screen.yahoo.com/sinatra-group-000000236.html?format=embed" allowfullscreen="true" mozallowfullscreen="true" webkitallowfullscreen="true" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>
I only knew her from Designing Women ... yes, dammit, I sometimes watched that show. She died way too young.
I'll raise you Time Trax and Empty Nest, not everyone had cable in the late '80s or early '90s, especially after the divorce.
