Glad he got to oversee the new Ghostbusters with his kid. https://nypost.com/2022/02/13/ivan-reitman-director-or-ghostbusters-and-stripes-dead-at-75/
That sucks. I just watched the new Ghostbusters and he looked to be in good health in all the behind the scenes footage. He seemed like a decent and fun guy. RIP
A great comedic director and a sad loss. Maybe as part of the Clutchfans directors tournament can do an In Memoriam..
"Meatballs" made me treat summer camp as a joke. We had to take a bus every day to the summer camp. It wasn't a live there and do camp scenario. It was bus in and out every day. We used to break all the rules. We would smoke cigarettes at the back of the bus with the slide window down. We would throw eggs at cars from the bus. We would jump into the river even when told explicitly not to. We would be banned from activities for breaking the rules (we didn't want to participate in some of these things (I'm talking to you...sack race)). "Meatballs" is required, pre-requisite viewing for anyone going to summer camp. "It just doesn't matter! IT just DOESN'T matter! IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!"
Meatballs Stripes Ghostbusters I & II Animal House He was involved in some of the greatest comedy movies of our time. Huge loss. Hopefully his son will carry on his legacy. RIP
