Childhood friend has since died from his injuries suffered early Thursday morning. (1/30/03) — A man is dead after a love triangle turned violent. Thirty-four-year-old Adrian Heyne was allegedly run down outside a southwest Houston bar on Thursday by his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend. Late Thursday, Adrian was clinging to live, but about 12 hours after being struck, he died from his injuries. Even as his situation was worsening, his family kept hope. "His chances get better as his swelling in his brain goes down," said the victim's brother-in-law Colin Watson, while Adrian was in the hospital. Police say it was just after 2:30 Thursday morning when Heyne and his girlfriend left Jaxx Bar. That's when a late model SUV ran into Heyne, throwing him in the air and leaving his family in turmoil. "Being in bars, you know, the later you get out in night time, a lot of crazy thing happen. We live in a big town and crazy times and a lot of things can be avoided by staying home," said the victim's brother Claudio Heyne. While investigators search for the suspects, friends try to piece together exactly what happened. Apparently the night started near Sam's Boat on Richmond. It's a bar where Heyne's girlfriend, identified by co-workers as Heather, works. The couple and the suspect had an argument outside. After some prodding by managers, Heyne and his girlfriend left. What took place next, nobody knows. But their friends say that's not not their big concern right now. "He's hurt. Adrian's hurt," said Watson. "Frankly, I don't care what happened." Police have a few names on who the SUV driver may be and they're tracking them down. Sam's Boat employees say the man looked familiar and obviously, both Heyne and his girlfriend knew something about him. But at the hospital, the wait was agonizing. "Today's my birthday and this is not a birthday present I really wanted," said Watson.
Sorry to hear about your friend. Hopefully the driver will be dealt with in the harshest manner possible.
The girl has fully cooperated and the person responsible has been named but they have yet to find him. Kevin Conners is his name. We can only hope that he is found and brought to justice. Unfortunately justice in this case will not be ultimate justice as it will not be a Capital offense. Just spoke to his brohter, and its obviously a very emotional time for him, as this was his last family member. Their mother died from a battle with cancer a few years back. Its just terrible.
Sorry Horns, I hope you, Adrian's brother, and your other friends will get through this. Stay strong, brother.
sorry Horns. I'm glad I met you; it makes it seem more personable that I can say I'm sorry for you and your friends. You're an energic, fun spirited guy! Keep that in mind as you help your friends cope, while grieving yourself.
Thank you very much, it means a lot. In a time like this I put off the grieving and look at those who are affected by it the most and try to help them before dealing with it myself. Come Monday at the wake, I am sure it will all set in even more. No premeditation, and was not committed in conjunction with any other criminal act. Just to put this out there, his brother was really his only remaining family member and has taken on the responsibilities of the funeral. This is not so much a plea for assistance as it is just to say if you are in the area and out & about you could stop by. On Sunday (I do not know the time yet) at Jaxx (across from Sam's Boat) there will be a fundraiser to help Claude pay for the funeral expenses. Just seeing people there would be support enough.
At 8:30 this evening, the individual who committed the act turned himself in and will be facing murder charges. This is a great relief to Claude and all of us. You are going a ways back, but he did work there. His dogs were certainly his life. Every picture that I have with him has 'T' (the dog on the left) in the picture. They would accompany him to the old Westhiemer Arts Festival, or any other place which dogs were allowed.
Very sad man. I dont know you but I will still defintely be thinking of everybody involved. peace man +
