This is disturbing. Every soldier who kills an innocent Palestinian on "accident" could possibly be directly linked to the calls by these rabbis. Hence, I think it's safe to use the term terrorism here. Is there really a difference between a civilian killing for the purpose of religion or a soldier killing for that reason? Little kids are being instilled with hatred at synagogues. I agree with the last link as to why we are funding such charities. Wouldn't that make us indirectly involved as well?

My last question, what is so different between Mahmoud Ahmedenijad and these right wing rabbis?

The difference is America backs Israel and not Iran.

Are you seriously asking this question?

There's a big difference between being a fringe religious cleric, and a Head of State.

    And Russia apparently backs Palestine.

Russia reaffirms recognition of Palestinian state

The Russian president, on a rare visit to the West Bank, has reaffirmed Moscow's recognition of an independent Palestinian state.

Dmitry Medvedev said Russia had recognised the state in 1988 and his country's position remained unchanged.

The Russian premier's visit seeks to revive a collapsed peace process.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is seeking the country's support for a tougher stance towards Jewish settlements at the UN Security Council.

"We made our decision then and we have not changed it today," Mr Medvedev said during a news conference with Mr Abbas, held in Jericho.

Mr Medvedev is due to meet Jordan's King Abdullah in Amman on Wednesday.

He had been due to go to Israel, but the plans were shelved after Israeli foreign ministry staff went on strike.

Russia has suggested that it wants to play a more active diplomatic role in the Middle East, but correspondents say there has been little to show for its efforts so far.

The BBC's Jon Donnison in Jerusalem says that as well as trying to expand trade links, Mr Abbas will be keen to have his counterpart's ear on the issue of the peace talks, which were suspended in September.

"We are ready to demonstrate a responsible approach and share that responsibility with everyone”

End Quote Sergei Prikhodko Foreign policy adviser to Russian president

Palestinian diplomats say they are about to seek a UN resolution against continued settlement expansion in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the issue which prompted the Palestinians to leave the negotiating table. As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Russia has the power to veto resolutions.

"The upcoming talks with the Palestinian leadership follow the logic of Russia's fundamental commitment to reinvigorate international efforts to stabilise the situation and achieve peace in the Middle East," the Russian government said in a statement ahead of the visit.

Mr Medvedev's foreign policy adviser, Sergei Prikhodko, said Russia was not so ambitious as to believe it could single-handedly resurrect the peace talks.

"That would be a very high hurdle," he told the AFP news agency. "We do not consider ourselves a messiah."

"We are ready to demonstrate a responsible approach and share that responsibility with everyone," he added.

The Quartet of Middle East peace mediators - the UN, US, European Union and Russia - will meet next month to discuss the peace process.

And Ahmedenijad advocated the extermination of Jews? There are many Jewish communities in Iran and even Jews in their parliament.

He called for the extermination of Israel, not Jews. Both bad, but a stark difference between the two.

Honestly, if you're calling for the extermination of any group of human beings, you're probably a douche.

Holy crap, these people are out of control.

The American Left and a Fear of Rabbits

Remember back during the Carter years when that good ol' president from Georgia was frightened by a killer rabbit? Remember how real men everywhere ridiculed the Man from Plains for being afraid of rabbits? With that incident in mind, I cannot help but feel that the entire, unhinged left is currently in a state of a fear of rabbits. The left is collectively unmanning itself over fear of "the right," a political grouping that is essentially harmless when compared to the level of faux alarm on the left or even when compared to themselves in years past.

Examples are everywhere, but I will suffice with two for our purposes here. The first is a column by James Zogby in The National. Muslim apologist and lefty alarmist Zogby had his killer rabbit moment in his ridiculously headlined, "Anti-Obama Fringe Scarier Than Ever," in which he purports to detail how frightening the American right wing is. Sadly for Zogby his efforts end up seeming absurd with his over-the-top concern of the rabbits on the right.

These rabbis are idiots and on the same level as the imams in Pakistan calling for people to be killed because of blasphemy laws. How can anyone who calls himself a representative of a religion (which should advocate peace) call for people being killed?!

Unfortunately there is nothing intrinsically peaceful about religion.

It's not religion that's not peaceful, it is human beings and nature that are inherently violent.

Saying something isn't peaceful by nature is not the same as saying it is violent, or violent by nature.

Again, there is nothing inherently peaceful about religion.

    Iran

Iran's Jewish population was reduced from 100,000-150,000 in 1948 to about 80,000 immediately before the Iranian Revolution, due mostly to immigration to Israel. While immigration to Israel had slowed in the 1970s and the Jewish population of Iran had stabilized, the majority of Iran's remaining Jews left the country in the aftermath of the overthrow of the Shah. The current Jewish population of Iran is estimated by most sources to be 25,000,[11][12][13][14] though estimates vary, as low as 11,000 [15] and as high as 40,000.[16] Notable population centers include Tehran, Isfahan (1,200)[11], and Shiraz. Historically, Jews maintained a presence in many more Iranian cities. Jews are protected in the Iranian constitution.[12] Iran hosts the largest Jewish population of any Muslim-majority country.[17] After Israel, it is home to the second-largest Jewish population in the Middle East.[11]

Funny, only one "fatwa" seems to be popular from Iran.
