I heard this kid is drawing comparasions to Magic Johnson and Pistol Pete, by some. On other sites, I have seen him being compared to Steve Nash and Walt Frazier. He turns 18 this year, but he is not expected to enter the NBA draft until 2010.
I heard them mention his name last night during the Team USA game. I guess we'll get a better look at him during the olympics.
I wish we could go after him, since technically to get a player from Europe, you don't necessarily have to draft them.

But I don't see him jump that much. His feet didn't even seem to leave the ground when he shot from the 3 point line. Can he do that in the NBA without the elevation? NBA defenders will salivate for a block whenever he shoots the ball.
I like the kid; seen him play when I lived in spain, but dont know about the magic comparison...more like a young brent barry with a little more handles and a little less hops
Probably better than what Luther can provide us now, if he he had some of Barry's hops in the Dunk competition.I'm game for getting him.
Everybody is for getting him... in a year or two. http://www.draftexpress.com/ Ricky is still a child, look at his body, he's not to talk about NBA, let him 1-2 years in Europe, let him became a MAN. Still, he's not too much a higlights player. Do you know Papaloukas? Tall PGs with total mastery of the game. Very smart players capable of doing it everything on the court... Rubio is an ELITE defender, a player who gives you infinite intangibles... Great feel for the game, can run an offense, score, assist, he will do whatever it takes to help his team WIN. But if you wanna know him, you must watch him play.
That is incorrect. The only way that you can sign a foreign player who is under 22 years old is if they declare for the NBA draft and you draft them. Once he does declare for the draft, Rubio is projected to be a top 5 pick, so I wouldn't get my hopes up.
I don't know what's more entertaining, the move, or the commentators? <object width="380" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CPSyScRcRRo&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CPSyScRcRRo&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="380" height="300"></embed></object>
Rubio is a beast, but no way the Rockets would ever get him unless we plummeted these next few years. He'll be a top pick for sure.
they said he may be the best player in the WORLD of his age (17)... yea i dont know about that...maybe in europe.
When he debutted with his Spanish League club, he was Elmer Bennett's backup. anyone remember Elmer Bennett? haven't heard that name in a long time. Bellaire HS star.
That was pretty sick. That play reminds me of when jason williams was makeing people look silly his rookie year
