man what the hell was nash thinking. umm i haven't been on a poster in a while, ahh look this fine young fellow appears to have a huge running start and can jump out of the building, here's my chance. i like how espn froze the shot right as he got to nash, the perfect poster shot.
Nash to Don Nelson: "This is your fault! You told us to play defense! Well I tried and now look at me! A posterized white guy!" Don Nelson: "I didn't tell you to be so stupid as to think you could prevent Ricky Davis from going to the rim. If you're gonna be that dumb, go back to Canada, ay?" Ricky Davis started out in Iowa. Six or seven years ago my dad and I would watch him in the summer leagues here in Iowa City, prior to his ONE year at the U of I. The guy can absolutely jump out of the gym. The human fly. It's almost freakish.
A charge? Oh no......Nash was clearly moving to his right (probably to get out of the way), and Davis' leg and foot hit Nash on his left side. If they were going to call anything, it would have been a block. But it was the right call....no call.
That is the nastiest dunk I've seen in a while.. If he had any, Nash lost his manhood on this night........like whoa!!
Almost as entertaining as the dunk was the reaction to it ... "Oh sh't! Oh sh't! Ohhhh sh'ttttttt! Ohhhhhhhhh Sh'ttttttttttt!!!!" (c) Ricky Davis, wearing a comical look of incredulity This is a nice poster, though.
Does it really count as jumping over someone when you plow into him like this? I'm not arguing a charge or a blocking foul. I just can't say he jumped over the guy when the defender gets a knee in the face.
He didn't really jump OVER him......as I stated earlier, Nash was moving quickly to his right to get the heck out of the way. The impact looks bad in the picture, but I don't think Nash even got knocked down. It wasn't that bad, and he didn't jump over him.
He wasn't moving to get out of the way, he was moving to try to draw the charge. Part of his foot was in the circle, and a blocking foul was called on Nash. Ricky Davis missed the free throw, and Nash went right back down the court, and scored on Bimbo Coles. It was a great dunk, and even I was screaming OHHH ****!!! Too bad dunks (even great one's) only count for 2 points. The only stat from last night that matter is ... Mavs - 103 Cavs - 99 Bring on Boston!
The way I saw it was that Nash was moving to draw a charge originally, becuase he certainly tried to get in position and plant his feet, but then Ricky took off earlier than Nash may have anticipated, and he began rushing or leaning hard to his right to move out of Davis' way........
That was a nasty dunk. Although it was only Nash, Davis jumped COMPLETELY jumped over him and finished strong. That dunk will likely end up in top 10 of the year.
